Great Value
Course layout is nothing too special, not too difficult, but the low price led to an enjoyable round. A lot of water, interesting dogleg par 5s where there are trees usually blocking your shot, and some elevation adds to the difficulty. Holes 2,3, and 4 are possibly the hardest 3 holes back to back in the area. Greens were in good shape, quite a bit of undulations on some especially with the pin placements. Would like to see more yardage markers, but otherwise a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely avoid the bunkers-they are rock hard with pebbles...not ideal.
Water hazards on 12 holes
Course was in great shape. Not a forgiving course for beginners or high handicap players. Very challenging for lower handcap players. Need to use all your clubs to keep ball in play
Good Course some holes with poor layout
The worst thing about the course is the fairways did not seem to be watered, and yet sloped toward the water. had a few balls run off the green into some of the hazards, one hole, the 10th, water right in the middle of the fairway, having not played before hit a driver and easily bounce into the water if there were placards with distances would have used a 3 wood.
Sand in bunkers varied greatly in quality (yes I know better than to be in them!)
Staff was great and over all is a good value
Great Course
Awesome course for price! Greens were a tad slow, but course maintenance was outstanding. Plus the beers were less than $3 a pop! Will defiantly be coming back soon.
Great course
Weather was perfect. The wind was a club or two on some holes, but still made for a fun round.
"The water comes into play on 12 holes." was the advice I got from the pro shop. He was right. A few of the holes are bordered by water, and others are a target practice to stay out of the drink.
Got paired up with two guys (Bob and Wally,) who made the round a blast.
Would highly recommend this course.
Nice course
Nice course , in great shape . A little short with plenty of trouble Pay attention to plan placement , large greens .
This course has a nice layout
The course has nice greens that are in good shape but the sandtraps need to be replaced with real sand

The Good: Western Chicago suburban course, tightly fit into a condo community, is appealing and quirky. Interesting, waterlogged layout has some very strong holes, in particular some strong Par 5's and driveable Par 4's. Nice fairway and rough conditions, as well as smooth, moderately small greens. Impressive clubhouse with nice banquet area and separate 19th hole. Nice staff and decent overall service. At around $50 during peak season, a good value for an overpriced Chicago market.
The Bad: There are several holes, specifically the Par 5's, that have hazards that require less than driver off the tee. Sand traps are in very poor condition. No driving range or short game practice area is a disappointment. Not much variety in the Par 3's. Limited on-course amenities with no GPS and only outhouses for restrooms.
The Verdict: Glendale Lakes is a short, unique course that can be fun to play, but not for golfers that want to "grip and rip it" on every hole. Needs on-course upgrades.
Best Hole: The dogleg right Par 5 #7 requires a great drive and approach shots must navigate sentinel trees guarding green.
Great pace of play
Course was in good condition! The greens
We're airated early in the week but we knew that going in! Made putting a little more challenging than normal . Course has a decent layout with a mix of easy and difficult holes. Not very long so you have the opportunity to score. Great value
For the money, we paid $30 and played in
3:45 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon!
Great challenging course
Great course to play on. Awesome greens and layout. Just really challenging with all the water hazards. I would recommend this course for anyone that is up for a nice challenge and wanting to enjoy the view
Glendale Lakes
Glendale Lakes is definitely a course with huge potential. I have played here mulitiple times and they have made some improvements to the course but it still needs some TLC. The water hazards are a great way to challenge yourself, but that added hazard of geese on almost every hole is quite a pain. Once you get through the first few holes where there is a little less water the geese problem does go away, but it could still be better.
Gapped Fairways
Long drivers beware, they gap the fairways so if you hit 270+ you most likely land in the rough for a perfect drive. A lot of unfair angles as well, you could be in the fairway on a par 4 but have no shot at the green which blows my mind. This a good course for the 220 yard driver, that plays for par or bogey, but there's no chance of scoring well because its impossible to get a GIR
Glendale Lakes GC
Being able to play a round of golf in Chicagoland in December in 60 degree weather is remarkable. Considering the time of year the course was in relatively good shape, and if you have never played the course before some of the holes can be challenging. We only played 9 holes, but the course reflects it's name with water coming into play on 11 holes.
Worth a Quick Round
Haven't played this course in years for no particular reason. Pure target golf. Challenging for high handicappers and those who spray it off the tee. Course had been recently aerated, but effects weren't too bad. Will play again.
Great value
This challenging course is a hidden gem. Yes, it has some flaws, in need of some tlc, but money is tight as it is a park district type situation. But, that said, the staff couldnt be more friendly, the grass and greens are always in great shape, and with water on so many holes, it is a definite challenge for golfers of any handicap. highly recommended.
Good Value Course at $30 and under
Nice course not too challenging, would put it in the $30 and under category
