Glendale Lakes
Glendale Lakes is definitely a course with huge potential. I have played here mulitiple times and they have made some improvements to the course but it still needs some TLC. The water hazards are a great way to challenge yourself, but that added hazard of geese on almost every hole is quite a pain. Once you get through the first few holes where there is a little less water the geese problem does go away, but it could still be better.
Gapped Fairways
Long drivers beware, they gap the fairways so if you hit 270+ you most likely land in the rough for a perfect drive. A lot of unfair angles as well, you could be in the fairway on a par 4 but have no shot at the green which blows my mind. This a good course for the 220 yard driver, that plays for par or bogey, but there's no chance of scoring well because its impossible to get a GIR
Glendale Lakes GC
Being able to play a round of golf in Chicagoland in December in 60 degree weather is remarkable. Considering the time of year the course was in relatively good shape, and if you have never played the course before some of the holes can be challenging. We only played 9 holes, but the course reflects it's name with water coming into play on 11 holes.
Worth a Quick Round
Haven't played this course in years for no particular reason. Pure target golf. Challenging for high handicappers and those who spray it off the tee. Course had been recently aerated, but effects weren't too bad. Will play again.
Great value
This challenging course is a hidden gem. Yes, it has some flaws, in need of some tlc, but money is tight as it is a park district type situation. But, that said, the staff couldnt be more friendly, the grass and greens are always in great shape, and with water on so many holes, it is a definite challenge for golfers of any handicap. highly recommended.
Good Value Course at $30 and under
Nice course not too challenging, would put it in the $30 and under category
Great value
On time tee off, friendly staff & the course was in great
condition. Sale price of $20 was great bargain
Sopping wet
The course drains very very poorly, we had a small rain the night before and the greens still had standing water on some parts at 11 am. Most of the course was very sloppy and spongy from the night before.
Good golf
Good value for a good course. A fair amount of water will keep you on your toes. Dick Nugent architect so there is a fair amount of target golf involved.
Close, reliable, good value
Plenty of water, some challenging holes, greens usually slow but in good condition. Sand traps a different story more like dirt traps. Best thing about Glendale Lakes usually you can get a tee time and tat a good price. Staff are cordial.
Short w/ Lots of Water
Second time playing Glendale Lakes. Easy course for those who are accurate off the tee box. There are about 9-10 holes where water is in play, which is probably this course's best attribute. From my experience, the pace of the play on the weekends is solid (a little over 4 hours). Drawbacks include bunkers that have no sand in them and greens that are decent at best. I'm not in any hurry to play here again this season, but I may if I can find a nice deal under $35.
I like this course
I went out as a single, got paired with three other singles. All these guys were great to play with and a good time was had by all.
holes
course is great, but many holes everywhere and people/club do not fix them.
course is OK
What I did not like is the fairways end 50 yds +/-before the green. You shouldn't have to look for balls in this area. The sand traps are lacking sand. They are dirt pockets. The greens are bumpy. Ball hops a lot.
Price are fair
Green and pace of play very are slow. Overall are ok.
Good challenge for average golfer
Overall decent play. Not sure if recent storm saturated bunkers but sand was packed, rough was more than average height, lost balls on grass. Players not repairing ball marks on greens. Ok For the $27 5pm tee time but no more.
Great course
I have played this course 3 times and it has been great every time! Fairways and greens are in great conditions! I have no complaints at all about this course.
