Brazell's Creek Golf Course
About
Brazell's Creek Golf Course has a unique layout that is like getting to play two courses in one. Designed by Georgia native Denis Griffiths, the course begins with a parkland-style front nine and then transitions into a links course. The original nine holes, the front nine, are connected to the new nine by a winding 1,500-yard bridge. The player-friendly front nine offers some good opportunities to build up your score before the more challenging back nine, which will test even the most seasoned golfers. The fairways on the front nine are tree lined and narrow but you won't have to deal with the wind, which you'll be confronted with on the longer, tougher back nine. Brazell's Creek Golf Course's signature hole is the par-3 15th. This 207-yard hole plays over wetlands to a large, undulating island green.

Good and unique course. Beware of showing up just past your tee time though. Guy behind counter will hassle you and threaten not to honor your o price
Really unique. Front 9 is standard golf with good layout decent greens. Greens are a little bumpy but suitable for a day out just don't expect tour quality but they're overall good. Back 9 is worth while though! Not one tree exist on the whole course (except ob). It's like a links style and will play tricks on your distance judgment. Plus hazards are king sand traps full of brush that makes finding the ball difficult and hitting just as difficult. Fairways are key here. Go out of the fairways or first cut and 9 out of 10 times have stroke n distance. A miss of the fairway not in the hazards means knee high grass that you'll probably never find your ball in. Very enjoyable overall.
State Park
Raining, so course was empty allowing me to play in under 3 hrs.....Both nines were good, but completely different, with the back side being wide open and the front fairly tight. Greens were fair to good and would go back again.
Better than before
I have played this course twice, and the first time wasn't too impressive. I also played the first time while it was warm and this second time when it was overcast around 55 degrees and felt like 45. The greens are in decent condition, slow roll which I am not fond of but the course is in better condition than before. I will go back because the price isn't bad and it's a nice drive over there. I hope this course continues to get better and would like to play during warmer conditions.
Awesome golf course
Very different styles between front nine and back nine. Very fun and challenging. Try it.
Fair golf course for any golfer.
We stayed at the state park and played our second day camping. We are playing again before we leave. We enjoyed the course. Very fair course for any golfer. Loved the back nine - very open and flat.
Great Deal
I haven't been to this course in over 2 years. It looks in a lot better shape now than it did before. I live only 6 miles away from the course, so when a hotdeal comes up, I book it. However, the bucket of range balls is a little pricey if you decide to warm up before play.
Tale of 2 nines
I haven't played this course since I was in college back in the early 90's. The front nine was exactly what I remembered. It was short but fun. The fairways were nice and the greens were in decent shape. The back nine is new and more of a modern course feel. It is long from the back tee which is made difficult by the windy conditions. It seems every hole is guarded by bunkers. The greens are a little quicker on the back nine as well. I didn't think the back nine had much character except for holes 16, 17 and 18. These were great as they had more terrain and trees. Tee shot on the par 3 17th is beautiful! I would recommend this course but you will definitely shoot higher on the back so take advantage of the front.
Two ridiculously different nines.
Front nine is old school, probably opened/designed in the 60's and not in very good shape. Back nine, once you get there, might as well be on a different planet. No wind on the front nine, but 20 to 30 mph winds on the back. If I ever go back I will ask if I can play the back nine twice, but you should play the front nine once to appreciate how cool the back nine is. Summation: never want to play the front nine again...would play the back nine everyday the rest of my life if I could.
Good Round
The price is right for this course. The front nine is parkland and the back is links style. There is no water but that does not mean that you wont lose balls. You will find this course to be a pleasant surprise.
Forgot the Bug Spray
Played afternoon hotdeal so the the value was great. Course conditions on front nine OK but a few of the greens need reworking. Front nine layout typical parkland course winding through trees. After the long ride to the back nine was amazed to see a pure links layout. Wide fairways etc.. Conditions much better then front. Luckily I was in atleast 5 bunkers, sand was compact which made easy outs, on the conditions side saw qyuite a bit of grass growing in some of them? Green speed was slow!, easy to lag but hard to hole putts. Hole 17 very nice par 3, had a 15 foot birdie put die right in front of the hole. On the down side is the amount of knats from the first tee through the course. Glad my pace of play 2 hours allowed me to keep moving, if you stay in the same place for more than 30 seconds you got swarmed. Would play again but bring the bug spray..
A great State Park Course
Great overall course and conditions. Minor green problems but did not effect play.
Up Keep
Will not play there again until they get the first nine up to standards, mostly sand around the tee, very poor. 10 thru 18 were in good condition?
bad greens
the greens were all but gone. really need to fix greens before I ever return.
needs a little work
nice layout just needs some tlc.this course could be awsome
Not busy
Friendly service. Not as busy as it should be. Great for an afternoon of golf.
Nice course
Front is easy but back is long and hard. Front and back are different styles of golf which is pretty cool but some of the greens could use some work. Overall nice course worth a try.
Front nine totally opposite of back nine. Front nine is your tipical course with the back nine is a links type course.
greens are getting better. They are fair to good. Fareways are good for this time of year. Tee boxes need some work.
Staff very helpful!
Course very wet in spots on front 9 holes but we have had several inches of rain lately.
Great Value
Not the best course I've ever played on but certainly not the worst. For this time of year though it wasn't bad, especially for the price
It's got some hidden challenges but a course I will definitely come back to.
