Brazell's Creek Golf Course has a unique layout that is like getting to play two courses in one. Designed by Georgia native Denis Griffiths, the course begins with a parkland-style front nine and then transitions into a links course. The original nine holes, the front nine, are connected to the new nine by a winding 1,500-yard bridge. The player-friendly front nine offers some good opportunities to build up your score before the more challenging back nine, which will test even the most seasoned golfers. The fairways on the front nine are tree lined and narrow but you won't have to deal with the wind, which you'll be confronted with on the longer, tougher back nine. Brazell's Creek Golf Course's signature hole is the par-3 15th. This 207-yard hole plays over wetlands to a large, undulating island green.

The back 9 links was a pleasant surprise

This course was a lot of fun to play. Just a real cool layout. The front nine is a hilly tree lined experience, then you take about a ten minute cart ride to the 10th tee and you are on another planet. 10-18 are on a wide open plain, wind exposed and tricky links style layout. Its at least 5 shots harder. The fairways are wide but watch out for 18, don’t hit your driver there.

Thumps up

All the rain had the course green and pretty, it's a small course that requires some shape on every drive. No so challenging that it's frustrating as the green were large and would hold the ball. They had just ariated the greens so the roll wasn't great but that's to be expected when u the do that kind of work. The back nine is more of a kind style layout and you'd better find the fairway or just off or your gonna need another ball. Enjoyed the course and will see go back.

Weird

When the grass reappears conditions should get much better. Fast greens! Front and back are TOTALLY different! Back is as links as it can get.

30 mph wind was very much a factor

The back nine was ehhhhh. On the other hand holes 16-17 were great. The rest are great if you don’t want to lose a ball. Layout of the back would have to be a 3/5 for me. It was in good shape, but I can imagine even on a not so windy day it’s still hard for your ball not to move too much. The front nine was very nice though and a scenic course as well. Front nine layout 5/5. It was a three club wind on the back hitting 9 irons 175 and drivers less than 200 into the wind. I didn’t see a single soul 3 holes behind us or in front of us, so pace of play is out of this world. The wind was moving my ball on the green, so good luck reading putts. Overall great day on the course.

Fastest greens anywhere.

Everything about this course is great, especially the lightning fast greens and all-around condition of the course. The back nine is a links-style layout completely different from the front nine. A fun and challenging course!

Fun

Front 9 tree lined with different challenges. Back nine is links style where you should not lose a ball unless you can't cover the water on 17. Enjoyed the layout.

Strange design

The front 9, is a typical Georgia layout with tree lined, hilly fairways, deep rough, and bunker guarded greens, which I enjoyed, but the back nine was something completely different. I'm guessing it is supposed to replicate a Links course. The fairways, although wide open, we're difficult to distinguish from the rough. If the fairways were watered and green, I probably would've enjoyed it more. A good all around course.

I like the layout.

Front nine has trees but no water hazards, there are lowlands. The back nine is very open hardly any trees. No trees on several holes. So you need to keep it in the fare way. The second cut was rough, maybe due to the abundance of rain.

Two layouts in one.

The front is the traditional Coastal Georgia layout but then you take a time warp to the back nine and it's amazing. It's like playing the Open. The price is crazy low and conditions are well above what is to be expected by a State Park. A must play.

Was a different experience

Read a lot about the course from the reviews on this app, so I though its giving you the chest of both worlds tight front nine a very challenging back nine with an open links style of play. Front nine was just what I had expected it to be. Challenging and the greens were faster than some of the courses I have played in the area. Back nine lay out was interesting and challenging at the same time. Wind not not an issue or it would have played a bit better.

Biggest turn offs are. Credit card machines not taking a specific card which it clearly states that it does accept the card. Next was golfers on the course if your playing in a group of 4 and a group of two are behind you and obviously playing faster let them through. Good course but some areas need some dire attention are the sand traps along with the right fairways near the green. Thank you for a great experience otherwise.

Good deal

Every state park course I play is pleasantly surprising.

This particular one obviously added the 2nd 9 at a later date, but both 9's were fun and interesting, just different.

The front 9 is a parkland course, very typical to what you'd find in most of North America. The back (the newer 9) plays like a linksland. Wide open with brutal rough to define the fairways.

Both sides good and interesting and glad I got to play.
