Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

Beautiful fall day for a round with my son. The course layout is a little odd. The first tee is a par five that requires an iron shot off the tea second hole a medium length par three. You don’t get to hit driver until the third hole. The course has a lot of character with a mixture of Highlands and woodlands holes, but it’s difficult to find a level lie even with well struck shots in the undulating layout. This seems unfair at times. A couple of great holes with water features that were very fair. Greens were in average condition for this time of year. All in all a nice day on the course and a good value for the money

Hole number 5 needs to be filled in with dirt and grass where you cross the bridge going up to hole 5.

Just to difficult for beginners and intermediate players.

A little late for our tee-time waiting on our third. Starter was willing to place us ahead of a large group that had started before us. We declined, but throughout our round, he kept checking on us about playing behind the large group. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were cut with no bare spots. Overall, a great day at Lake Arrowhead.

I have played this course on numerous occasions, and enjoy my rounds here. The course is set in valley surrounded by the southern tips of the Appalachian Mountains in Waleska, Georgia. There are a number of really good holes on the course, and few that are a couple that are a bit quirky, but all in all, a reasonably good routing.

The course itself could stand a little more attention to upkeep in that some of the greens are thin, and the fairways themselves are sparse of dense grass in various fairways.

In spite of some short comings, the experience is enjoyable due to layout of the course and the views of the mountains around you and nature.

Very pleasant golf round. Course conditions, layout, pace of play all good. Plenty of cold water on the course on a hot day . Really liked nice restroom facilities on each nine. I will be back soon.

some of the holes are very challenging

especially the pin placement on #5 where an average golfer (like me) would have difficulty reaching ovre the hazard to get ot the fairway & then have to deal with a stupid pin placement

Greens are great,but the fairways are a bit long (can loose the ball eaisly.)

Course is too hard for the average golfer. A little money could be spent to change a few things to make it easier and more fun.

Beautiful course, solid amenities. Course was in great condition and pace of play was perfect. Course provided serious challenges, and our scores were high. It was a good challenge. Watch out for the 5th hole!...

Fantastic maintenance! Great experience play! Pacing could improve as my wife and I were stuck behind 3 guys taking sweet time with a foursome behind us. Otherwise love going here and would highly recommend!!

Course was in great shape! Has really recovered from aeration and played well. Good value for GolfNow prices.

We were warmly welcomed by a very friendly and courteous pro shop and 19th hole staff. The on-Course ranger was also friendly and helpful.

For a mountain course the fairways are very wide. Elevation changes and undulating fairways made for a challenging first-time on the course. Many of the greens’surfaces are not visible on the approach shot so it will take a few times playing the course to appreciate the shape and tiers on the greens.

On the bad surprise-side... it would appear that the maintenance budget has been curtailed. This time of year one would expect the bare patches from a harsh winter to have been sodded/seeded etc. there were lots of weeds and the greens were a bit shaggy.

We received a great rate through Golf Now and will return as it was a bargain; the views were great and the staff was terrific!

If you are around the north side of Atlanta and are considering buying a new home. There is quite a lot of building going on th the community and existing homes for sale. Close to town but you feel like you are in the mountains.

Lake Arrowhead is an absolutely beautiful course! Course play suits the experienced golfer. It must be visited especially by the golfer who needs a challenge. I hope to visit again soon.

Greens were coming back from earlier aeration and running fairly well. Nice change of pace

The greens are nice...they were slow...hadn’t been mowed in a few days. Lots of elevation changes.
