Lakes Golf Course at Laura Walker State Park
About
Situated at the northern edge of the Okefenokee Swamp, the Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker State Park is home to an abundance of native plants and wildlife including alligators, gopher tortoises, and blue herons. True to its name, the course has three large lakes and the layout is routed through numerous varieties of oak trees and palmettos. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with heavily undulating greens, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. There is also subtle but tricky, links-style mounding defining each of the fairways and landing areas. The course strikes a nice balance of player-friendly and difficult holes but be prepared for the final holes on both the front and back nine, they are considered the toughest on the golf course.

Golfer Reviews
Great round
The course is in great shape. Shot my second best round ever.
Hidden Gem
This is a great course for every level of golfer and we enjoy it every time we play here…. Super nice people and just a great all around experience….!!! We’ll be back….!!!
Beautiful course, great price, excellent staff
Golfed on Memorial Day weekend. Appreciate the attention to detail to put American flags at every hole.
Course was beautiful; green and clean. A few sprinkler heads were damaged and leaking but it did not affect play.
Staff was very friendly. They worked hard to keep water kegs full on the course which was a blessing for the weather was sunny and 94 degrees.
There are at least 3 other golf courses closer to me than this one, but I would rather drive here and play.
Thank you for allowing me to write a review.
Impressive
The course conditions here are spot on perfect from the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Staff was very friendly and informational about any and every question asked. Definitely recommend to play and I will be back soon and more frequently.
Great place to play and just enjoy the outdoors
The course was in excellent condition and for the price you can’t beat the experience. Will definitely continue to come back even if it is an hour away from home!!
Great value
The overall experience was great. The only downside was that a piece of equipment had leaked what looked like oil on some greens that had killed some grass. Pace of play was great.
Donkey
Had a great time! Great course and valve for the the price!
AAA
Great course for the price.. went up from Jacksonville and it was well worth the drive.
Great course
This was my first time playing here and I really enjoyed it. The course was in pretty good shape overall. The greens have a few that are still growing in right now but for this time of the year looked pretty good. Fairways were in decent shape and the whole course is very well maintained. The state park does a great job on this course all around and for the price you can't beat it. I drove about an hour and twenty mins to get to this course and it was beyond worth it. Highly recommend this course to everyone.
