Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

It’s fine
Tee boxes were in rough shape. Greens were ok I guess. They did have some rough patches though.
Great value
Cranes is a great spot. I play here at least 2 times a month because it’s a fantastic value for $55 with a cart on a weekend. Course can get soggy sometimes, but still a better deal then a lot of these overpriced courses in the area. The front is pretty straight forward, but the back is very tricky and can eat you up. Definitely would recommend
Very poorly maintained, expensive course
It’s in bad shape. Really, really bad. Greens, tee boxes, and fairways. Not just the holes that border the river.
Back nine was filled with gnats when I was out. There are ponds and streams that look really poorly maintained in that side as well.
Pace of play was 4 hours for me. All the tee
boxes were heavily wooded, which helped with the heat.
No marshal. No refreshment cart. The little staff I saw were friendly enough.
Will never play again.
Course is not maintained at all, besides mowing. No staff no ranger/ Marshall. Groups of seniors moving at a snail’s pace. Will never play again.
Good course for a hot day
Good course for price, could finish a round in 31/2 hrs most holes are straight away and decently groomed, would play again
No juice
Run out of juice in the cart on the way to 12th tee
could be so much more
play was very slow despite the best efforts of the staff after my group complained about the slow pace. 18 at Saturday midmorning took 5.5 hrs. course conditions are bad, alot of dry spots in rough and burned out spots on the greens. could be so much more if it was properly maintained. don't see myself returning anytime soon
Better than last time
This was the worst course I played at the end of last year. It was much better this time but the 1st cut is so long that balls just off the fairway are easily lost. It is a very narrow and angled course and few times where you want to use a driver. Play it smart not long.
Course in bad shape
Course is in pretty bad shape. Ground is hard, it’s like walking in cement. Lots of weeds on the fairway as as as on the tee boxes. Ground on the tee box is so hard, I needed a hammer to put in my tee. I played this course before the pandemic, hoping that it has gotten better but Not! Too bad.
