The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

Poor conditions

Decent layout, poor conditions. Very disappointed in the maintenance of the course. Greens in bad shape and bare spots throughout the course. Proshop staff is friendly, not so much for starter and cart staff.

Worst greens ever

This course has a great layout spoiled by green conditions that would beg for automatic 2 putts. Many large areas in all but last 3 greens were burnt out, up to 35% of the green in splotches all over making putting pure guess work.

Good value for the money

Fairways are in decent shape. Greens are rough, many with patches of missing turf. Sand traps contain thin amounts of sand, making flop shots difficult. Construction around several holes has left portions of the course in poor repair. The course layout is fairly challenging so does offer a reasonable test of golfer skill. Convenient location of the course is a plus.

Maui Nui

Not sure why but quite a drop off in the quality of the course since we last played this course (two years ago). The greens and fairways had a lot of dead spots. Lots of debris (likely from on course work) around cart paths and on the course.

Cow pasture

Unfortunately this course, especially the front nine, is more like a cow pasture than a golf course. From the practice area to the tee boxes to the fairways and greens, it is rough, very rough. Garbage cans overflowing, trash in parking lot, muddy cart paths, busted faucet in men's room...and all at a Maui course that has potential. It's been going downhill for years. What the heck is going on?!

Maui Nui bargain

Maui Nui is easily the best bargain on the island. The staff is so friendly and the pace of play is always under 4 hours. We have even donated golf gear to them for the area’s youth which they gladly except.

ANOTHER Excellent Experience

It’s ALWAYS a great day at Maui Nui. The price is right. The course is fair, and the pace of play is excellent. Absolutely everything is excellent and everyone is so very friendly.

My favourites are Lorinda and Sophie in the Pro Shop. All the cart guys are fantastic. My favourite beverage cart girl is Courtney. She’s FANTASTIC.

Now only 17 holes

Course is in rough shape. The construction on the back nine has taken one hole away which they don't tell you about. Greens are super slow. Looks like it once was a great track but no longer.
