The classic design of Maui Nui Golf Club combines different elements including reachable holes that face each cardinal point with strong prevailing winds that reward smart play for a layout that is both fair and challenging. The layout wanders through the foothills of Haleakula, providing subtle elevation changes as well as views of the ocean and the surrounding West Maui Mountains and the volcanic atoll Molokini. The golf course has a variety of holes that will have you hitting downwind, upwind, and with both left and right crosswinds. A few lakes and ponds also come into play. Maui Nui Golf Club's layout features generous fairways and large greens. The difficulty of the course depends heavily on the speed of the prevailing winds that day. Golfers will be greatly rewarded by keeping the ball in play and good putting and chipping skills.

Washrooms

Enjoy playing Maui Maui and the staff are always very friendly and accommodating.

The washrooms however are not, the ladies washroom is in need of a major update!

Sweaty day

It was warm, paired with a lovely couple. Had to wait on every hole, pace of play slow. Took 5 1/2 hours! Long day! Drink cart broke down only saw it on the 9th hole.

What happened??

This course used to be a favorite of mine when I visitied.

t has been 2 years since I played here and a lot must have happened in the interval. It used to be in very good condition. It is not now. The greens especially were in poor condition. I heard that the big storm of a month ago was the reason but I don't think the poor condition of the greens were the result. They looked like they had just been neglected.

In all honesty, I would not recommend playing here until conditions improved. I realize that Covid has probably greatly impacted cash flow but........

Very nice layout

All in all, a nice course. Fairways and tees were in good shape. Greens were terribly inconsistent and some had other kinds of grass or weeds growing in them that would actually change the course of your ball. Maybe they just needed a good mowing. Loved the layout. Staff was friendly.

Fun times

Got paired with a couple of great guys and got the round done in 4:05. Greens were a little rough but all in all pretty nice. The burger and beer at Gilligan's was tasty with great service!!
