Decent Golf in a Rural Setting
This course is a little out of the way, but we found it to be worth the drive. The amenities are not overly abundant, but the folks in the club house were super nice. The course was in very good shape and provided a challenging layout in a pretty setting. We enjoyed our round and will be back.
Always Fun
I love this course. It is very interesting and presents much more of a challenge that you would think just looking at the scorecard. You need to be accurate and think your way around. Course was in good shape and we never waited on any hole, even on Saturday. Highly recommended.
a course you can score on
scored great off the senior tees. scored an 82, can score if you hit the ball straight. will play it again.
Love this course
My wife and i live about 25 miles from this course during the summer and regularly make the drive to play Shady Oaks. I can't speak to weekend play because we always play weekdays but during the week it is never crowded and so play is always fast. The course is a little shorter than some but it makes up for it with challenging shot making. Lots of trees and doglegs make not only being in the fairway but being in the correct part of the fairway a premium if you want to make par. I am always worried when i go to affordable golf courses that their greens will be bumpy and slow but that is not the case at Shady Oaks. The greens are quick and with some of the slopes on them they can be quite the challenge but because they are smooth they definitely reward a good stroke. I say give it a try.
this course is a great course realy cant say enough good about it
excellent i would recommend this course to anyone looking for a changeling experience and the staff will make you feel right at home
Great shape
Course and staff great, hard course but fun.Wish I lived closer would play more often.
Love this course!!
Beautiful well maintained course. Full of older trees and well marked fairways. Very scenic with a creek running thru it to give a little extra challenge to most golfers on a few holes. Every hole presents a different look and requires a bit of strategy to play it best. It's worth every penny! I'll be back many times!!
Hit it straight and think
First time out here with my kids on Father's day. I will be back. Perfect example of a course where you have to think your way around. If you just like to bomb it you will have trouble. Greens were excellent and pace of play was very good, it just got a little slow the last 4 holes (we caught someone). Will love to come back with the knowledge gained from playing it once.
Loved and Hated It Too!
Short course, but very challenging. Very narrow fairways and a lot of trees in the way. Actually, looking forward to playing again. I'll use a different strategy next time though for sure.
