About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Golfer Reviews
Great fall weather at a great course
Took advantage of spectacular late Oct weather for what might be the last round of the year. This is one of my favorite courses in the Chicago area. Nice mature trees, every hole is unique, the greens are lightning fast but true, and everything was still lush and green. The trees have started to turn and the colors were awesome. Some leaves have come down, but in many areas they mulched them to make it a bit easier to locate your ball, although we did lose a few. They have a nice driving range and putting green, but this late in the season the halfway house and bar were closed and there was no cart girl. We still had a great time and will be back next year.
Outstanding
Was shockingly surprised how great the course was. Never thought Bartlett had fast greens but I was wrong, they are smooth and fast. Was our most enjoyable round of the season in October!
Outstanding
Outstanding conditions. I’ve never seen the place in better shape. Greens true and FAST. Really can’t find green speeds like this at another public course in the area. We will be back for sure
Great fall shape
Greens very fast and true, all parts of the course were in very good shape, staff was friendly.
Good course conditions
I’ve played here before , about 2 years ago. The fairways and greens are in good shape with a good pace of play. I like the rolling hillsides, which is odd for a suburban location . Greens are difficult here, meaning very sloped in some situations. They roll fast. You can barely miss and end up further away than when you started . Speed and playing it short are the way to go.
Value for your money
After a lot of rain the course is really in good condition. Greens challenging but also kept well. Price/value absolutely worse it. Recommend this course. Would play here again.
Great day
Fairways in great shape and played in 4 hours on a Friday
Getting pricey to play but for this course worth it
Pin placements were really tough Greens were fast Will be back next weekend
Beautiful Course But Some Unfair Pin Placements
This course is beautifully keep, and will fairly challenge players of all abilities. The abundance of old oaks and other trees harken back to the days when each hole was its own entity; before the cutting down of so many trees elsewhere so as to speed up play. The greens are fast, modulated and really well kept.
What was unfortunate was the pin placement on a few holes, which I felt violated the Slope, Gradation and Fairness guidelines of the USGA. For example, a ball being putted uphill, which misses the cup by a foot or two, should not be able to then roll backwards past the cup, resulting it being further away than when initially putted.
Otherwise, this is a course I look forward to playing again.
Rough- Ruff
Great layout.
Greens were fast and true.
Stay in the fairway and you’ll be fine.
Get into the rough and IF you can find your ball good luck getting off a predictable shot!
Enjoyable round.
Oh,
could use some water stations on the course.
The beer cart gal was nice and friendly.
Lightning fast greens
Every time I play this course it’s a joy. Fairways are perfect, bunkers are great and greens are so fast and rock hard. Course is not long but the greens will challenge any good player. Stay below the hole!
Bartlet hills
Overall good course, wasn’t a fan of the warm up area not having flags and being kind of hidden. Course was fun and staff was nice. Carts were ok but were dirty when we were given them for our time. As far as the actual golf the greens were rock hard and nothing stuck at all making it very challenging.
Bartlett hills
Fun course, staff was great, the duo we got paired with were fun to play with. Overall good course. Greens were tough and was like hitting onto a rock but after seeing a ball bounce hard after a wedge shot we figured it out. Would play again if I found a deal but wouldn’t pay 70 dollars again for this course. Amazing time was had though and enjoyed the day. Glad I got to play it.
