Excellent time
A Central Illinois gem. Layout was great, course was in great shape with tough but fair greens and attention to detail. Challenging but fun, worth the replay. Staff was incredible, kind, efficient, wanted to make sure you had a fun and enjoyable golf experience. Clean clubhouse and facilities, highly recommend
Super track in great condition!
A large group of us stopped at Piper on the way home from a Big Cedar golf trip. We were rained out at Payne's Valley and feeling dejected from the weather. Piper was more than generous in accommodating us for 13 tee times. This place is a hidden gem. Imagine Cheers had a baby with your favorite country club. Conditioning was excellent. The greens were the fastest we played all trip. Layout was very challenging, yet fair. Pro shop was great. The bar area had live music on a Sunday afternoon and very friendly patrons. We will be back!
Course is very long and tough but in great shape and very scenic
Layout is solid- great value
Challenging layout. Early in season so course isnt in top shape but better than most in Central ILLINOIS this time of year. Greens were quick. Several tee shots especially Par 3's were tough. Some of the Greens has several tiers
Nice Course / Nice Company
Have played here several times. Course is nice and enjoyable to play. Got paired with three local golfers and had a good time. Only complaint was that the course was a bit soggy due to recent rain. Doesn't seem to drain that well so I'd be cautious when conditions are really wet. Otherwise, strongly recommend. Also, staff was super friendly.
One of best in town
One of the best courses in town. Some areas were under construction which wasn’t too big of a deal.
Good challenge
Played in May when very wet and was OK. When dry now, it is more enjoyable and in great condition. Only minor issue was some tee boxes were a bit dry making teeing a challenge but solved by moving around to find some softer ground. Clubhouse bar was well appointed on the liquior side, even with a bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet ion the shelf. Will return to play again.
Nice course. Fast greens
Compared to the courses at home, the greens were like lightning! It was fun and challenging. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was a little slow on the front, due to a twosome that was having a VERY Rough day.
Very tough course in very good condition.
My only issue with the course was the green setup. Many pins were placed in unfair locations given how fast the green speed was. For example, on one hole, I had an uphill putt which ended up just short of the hole and the ball rolled backwards all the way off the green. When putting and chipping to the hole on several other holes, the ball rolled slowly past the hole and ended up off the green.
