Blackberry Oaks Golf Club
About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Great course! Challenging on certain holes, but fair.
Fun course and very scenic
I played Blackberry every Saturday about 20 years ago when it first opened, but this was the first time in several years. The course has matured beautifully and has a very interesting layout with some very difficult holes.
It was a beautiful day and the course was totally booked, so much so that we had to wait for a cart and teed off about 15 mins late. The only criticism is the condition of the sand traps - they were hard as rock and full of stones (due to heavy rains a couple of days ago).
Played a couple times
Ok if you just want to get out no real special holes or high difficulty but a nice almost rural spot for play
Good Track, reasonably maintained, Friendly Staff
This course is a good one for seniors. Reasonably maintained and easy to walk if you are inclined to do so. The greens are in excellent shape. The bunkers are fair, but there is standing water in each one of them after a downpour. There are some low/wet spots on several fairways and on several holes, some areas near the greens are severely torn up. However, I would play this course again and will be happy to recommend this to a friend. 3,5 stars.
Overall good
Great bang for the buck, shot a round with one friend. Pace of play was steady, only caught one group that let us play through. Decent layout and conditions were good for the weather.
Fun Fathers Day
Always enjoy golfing at Blackberry, course was in great condition!
BBF
Love this course. Friendly staff, unlike Orchard Valley.. Well maintained courses. Challenging but not over bearing.
Nice track!
Very good layout for amateur players. Rewarding if you keep in the fairways, and ample penalty if you risk too much.
Tees and greens can get a bit close, so keep your eyes on the groups around those areas.
GPS on cart
Great course layout, very challenging.
Staff very friendly
GPS and Bluetooth speakers available in cart.
I will be back
Nice course, if you’re not in a hurry
Beautiful course, that’s tougher than it seems. Nice kept secret in the far west burbs. Mature trees and water hazards make this a good course for all skill levels, but the pace of play definitely needs improvement. This course gets bonus points after I saw a guy throw one of his clubs in the water. Awesome!
I agree...seems like a lot of seniors play it. If they had a starter or ranger, it may help. Play can be very very slow.
