About
Situated on the Cuneo Estate in Vernon Hills, White Deer Run Golf Club has a beautiful landscape dotted with sparkling lakes. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, meaning there are some uneven lies and the occasional blind shot in store for you. There are not many trees but numerous bunkers lurk beside the greens and, of course, water is a pretty prominent presence throughout the golf course. Due to the plentiful and strategically placed hazards, the course puts a premium on accuracy. The layout is challenging but fair and it is also player friendly enough for beginners, offering ample room off of the tees. White Deer Run Golf Club's design contributes greatly to the course's playability, but that is also partly due to the immaculately manicured fairways and fast, well conditioned greens.

Nice layout
Very nice layout. They must get a lot of play because they course was pretty beat up. Goose poop EVERYWHERE. Other than that it was a pretty nice course.
Awesome track!!!!
Green’s are exceptional and the course is in great condition. We will definitely be back this fall!
White Deer Run
Great value early in the morning and not crowded at all
greens
Golf course has a beautiful facility, good condition tee to green but the greens were in terrible condition, ball marks everywhere which took the fun out of playing the course. I have played this course a few times before and it was always in good condition so I was
surprised by the condition of the greens
Rough Greens
This is normally a very good track. The greens were some of the worst I have ever seen.
Solid all around
Fun course. Trouble out there but fairways wide enough for all player abilities. Only downside was unfixed ball marks everywhere which seems to be a bigger problem these days on public courses.
Course was in immaculate shape! Some of the bunkers were not in the best condition but this was due to the huge amount of rain we’ve had. Will definitely be back.
Missed Opportunity
My only criticism is they had no staff in the restaurant/snack bar. At the beginning of my 7:20 a..m. round or when we made the turn. They’re missing an opportunity to sell some breakfast sandwiches, Gatorade, etc. I settled for water on the course.
White Deer Rin
Very enjoyable round.
Course and greens in great condition.
Good track. Slow pace.
Systems are always down here. The pace of play is incredibly slow. There was a group in front of me where a single person hit 3 tee shots. I asked them if I could play through, as there was no one in front of them for at least a hole. They got upset and begrudgingly let me play through. It’s a shame, because it’s a nice track.
Great Track - Tough Greens
Absolutely loved this track. Really nice layout, tons of bunkers, but wide open fairways. You can definitely maneuver around the fairway bunkers, but your approach shots are going to be challenging no matter what. Elevated greens, bunkers surrounding almost every hole, and the pin placements today were Sunday style, so we had to be safe often and just land on the green instead of pin seeking. Also, the rough around the greens, thick as can be, so be aware.
Either way, great track, greens were fast in the front and average on the back. I will definitely come back no doubt!
