A gem
Excellent difficult course extremely well maintained. Plush fairways. Bring lots of balls for lots of water. Big beautiful sand traps. The only clubhouse restaurant that I know of that is a sushi restaurant. Japanese beer on tap. They also have indoor facilities that seem quite nice.
Course you love to hate
If u have a water ball grabbing stick you will be set for life on golf balls. Especially all of mine.
Fun course plenty of water. A few of the sand traps were just dirt instead of sand. Not all of them though.
Very slow
Course was in great shape. Fairways were nice, bunkers were good, and the greens weren’t that bad. The main problem was pace of play. We left after the 13th and we were at 4 hours at that point. We started at 2:30 and left at 6:30 with 5 holes to play.
Fun track over crowded
Wear your ha that on the weekend.
Tee boxes are rough on many holes not level a mangled. Fairways were in really decent condition if people layed down sand in their doors would be even better. Greens were fast and battered by untended pitch marks. Sand traps were decently soft. Some were loaded with rocks. No cart girl for an afternoon round and minimal bathrooms. Multiple holes where you are in constant danger of shanked balls coming at you. Fore was the most common thing I heard during my round.
Well Kept, Challenging Course
I’ve played this course before but I had basically forgotten the layout. The course was in pretty good condition for it being so early in the season. Water hazards are littered throughout the course combined with lots of doglegs. Keeping the ball in the fairway minimizes most risks. A good mix of large and small greens and other hazards add some difficulty. This course is a good value and should provide an enjoyable round.
Frustrating-Punched Greens, not informed ahead of time
Upon arrival, we found a handwritten note on the pro shop door saying, "Punched greens today." The note also included this disclaimer: "If they are not done punching the greens on the back nine by the time you make the turn, you will just play the front again."
I know greens must be punched, but this information should be provided beforehand.
The Golf Now website and the course website should notate this, I checked both prior to booking and there was no mention of this.
Fast Greens and some work to do
The greens were super fast and rolled true. Some of the tee boxes and a few fairways were really beat up. The course needs some work in those areas,
Challenging layout, rough conditions
Course was pretty beat up, grubs are everywhere and the animals are feasting. Solid setup, was much nicer earlier in the year.
