going downhill
I recalled the Arboretum club as a very well maintained course.
The greens are in a terrible shapes, with a lot of holes and marks.
That's sad
Course Management Vital
Slope 137 from back.
133 from middle.
Water on 15-16 holes.
Scoreable if you're smart and play within yourself. Unlike two of my partners who just blasted away with the Big Dog to get 4's and 5's and then 8's and 9's repeating this pattern throughout.
Course in good shape.
Greens good.
Late start today with women's outing pushing us back 20 minutes.
Price points...
$35 weekday
$45 weekend
My Hot Deal was $31.
Fun track..long round
Had a great day for golf...perfect weather course conditions pretty good. Pace of play was a brutal 5 hours and 15 minutes. I don't know what the hold up was, but waited on almost every hole on the front and did wait on every hole on the back. The greens were quick but fair, pocked up pretty good with unrepaired ball marks...not a course fault but a player fault. Sand traps were hard and had a lot of pebbles. Also majority were not raked by fellow golfers. The course is very tight and challenging. It seemed like every lie even in fairways and tee boxes had a slope to it. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I would and will probably play again. Hopefully it won't be as crowded next time. Very rare to have a 5 hour round in the middle of the week in the middle of the day.I expect that on a weekend, not a weekday.
A good walk ruined
Went out on a beautiful July fourth with my son daughter and life long friend. We payed a higher rate than we normally like to but understand it's the 4th A big day. We were having a very nice round, although the ranger twice on the front nine asked us to pick up the pace. There was a twosome in front of us. We were playing the course for the first time, to keep up with a twosome, was not realistic. Finishing the front nine we were thirsty, ready for some water and a beer.( no water or beverage cart on the front nine )stopping at the clubhouse to get a quick beer to go (we waited for 15 minutes. One bartender making bloody Mary's to go for someone getting ready to tee off) Checking the time we had played the front in exactly 2 hours, which Made me mad that we were being harassed by the ranger. We started the back nine by letting a twosome play thru on # 10. The back nine went ok although the ranger showed up only to look at his watch and drive away. We finished what would have been a very enjoyable round, right behind the two some we let play thru on 10. We played the round 4 hours 15 min including the time waiting for beverages at the turn. I'am 58 yrs old and I've played a lot of golf and love the game. I've exposed my kids to the game. They love playing. I also taught the kids the importance of etiquette and pace of play. What would have been a very enjoyable round of golf was made a lot less fun. Maybe the ranger should be helping behind the bar to help " speed things up" at the turn. Will not be back, too many other courses out there.
Great course
Great course however pace of play was longer then expected due to a outing that day.
Too many lay ups off tee box.
Good condition; water on 15 holes. Too many lay ups with less than driver off tee.
Water and tight holes with slow greens
Got to be a good golfer to play this course. Play it forward with the ladies if you are not.
Great Course! Very rude young Ranger ......
Overall a great experience until this young Ranger was trying to force us off the course when we were packing up on the 18th hole. I usually do not write reviews ,or do I think the course should suffer off one bad employee, but this kid obviously has never held a position of power in his life. I really hope that you consider moving this young adult to another position that does not involve him speaking with golf course members/patrons. When a course is empty and there is an hour of daylight left please do not tell me how I need to hurry up. Taking this rude individual out of the equation everything else was perfect and you will not regret the actual track.
SLOWWWW
Pace of play was terrible for a weekday. Rangers were nowhere to be found, until the last hole. They were parked by the 18th green watching. One of the more painful rounds of the year.
Fun day With Friends
Very Challenging Course. The only thing I'd like to see is maybe have the staff make sure that play ahead of you is moving along. A Beverage Cart would also be a great addition, especially since it was very hot.

Good time. Good money. Good place
my style course
I stay 2or3 month in chicago a year.
And play 3 tlmes a week.
I only played several times arboretum.
Arboretum c.c is one of my favorite course.
I recommend every golfers this c.c
Keep the Driver in the Bag and the Ball in the Fairway!
This is target golf! Water comes into play on several holes. You also have to look at your GPS to see where the fairway runs out...not too many "grip it and rip it" driver holes here, need to take the right club and keep the ball in the fairway. Course is tight on 1 and 18 with houses as well...so drive it straight. Very challenging and fun course, makes you think about course management throughout the round.
A nice day
The Arboretum offer a nice day of golf. Very challenging course with lots of water and bunkers to challenge you.
Oldie but goodie!!
Tuff little course w/lots of challenging work ahead. Bring your A-game & keep your boom sticks in check, lots of water & OB to keep you on your toes. The only 2 complaints I had was that we went out on a dreary day for twilight starting at ~5 & the place had us in by 7 sharp even though we had daylight till ~8. I appreciate wanting to close early on a bad day but twilight rates are cheap. After a long day in the office the last thing I'm looking for is someone nagging me to get off the course. Not a good way to motivate people for twilight golf. The starter warned us in advance but that still doesn't justify the behavior. You only work 6 months a year...The other was that the greens were a little more beat up then the grounds keeper advertised. Winter was pretty tuff to this place on the front 9.
The greens were in good shape.
I have played several rounds in the area the last couple weeks and this course had the best greens by far. They rolled true, not bumpy as other courses that were impacted negatively by the harsh winter.. The course was in decent shape.
Arboretum -After 10am
Very fair but interesting course with diverse features. Cannot beat the price of $50 after 10am on Weekends. Never have to wait, pace of play is great. Friendly staff and awsome bloody mary's....
Nothing like fall golf in the midwest.
When we teed off it was 46 degrees and drizzling. By the time we finished it was 32 and snowing. We also had 15 mph. All things considered the course was in great shape for this time the year.We finished in @2 1/2 hours,we played ready golf in order to stay warm. You have to love this game to endure less than ideal conditions like these.
it was good condition
I play many times this course allways staff goood and good maintnance pro shop has good merchandise and good prices so nothing complain super+++++
Course was too wet because of rain. Motor cart had to stay on cart pad.
It was very difficult to play in rain and wind. I don't know what should I say in terms of review.
