Buffalo Grove Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal course that offers an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. The gently rolling terrain is covered with mature trees and wetlands, all of which provide challenges on the course. In addition to the natural hazards, there are a few strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Accuracy will be helpful when maneuvering the tree-lined fairways but it's not a terribly punishing golf course. There are a few tricky spots, but overall it's a forgiving and player-friendly layout. It's ideal for beginners and also good for a quick and casual round for any skill level. The golf course's affordability is another appealing aspect of the course. Buffalo Grove G.C. also offers a practice facility with a 25-station driving range and pitching and chipping greens.

A good Challenge for a Municipal Course

Well maintained in spite of recent flooding> only time i have played a course where the starter urged you to stay out of the rough. Greens were tricky with some running fast and some very slow.

Challenging course, fair price.

I've played this course many times, the course is in fairly good shape. The greens can be challenging to hit in regulation because of their size. Staff is friendly and the pace of play is adequate.

Was a bargain price on Golf Now but slow play diminished the experience/

Very slow play for a weekday. Fairway was long. Greens were okay to a bit slow. Lots of rain recently might have something to do with it. Tee boxes were a bit rough. Still a good deal for the Golf Now price. Wouldn't pay full price to play here.

Slow play hurts

Same experience last 3 times I've played there, too bad, the course is in nice shape. Just short of 5 hours.

A good weekday outing

This course is a nice change of pace. It's not super long, but has many elements designed to challenge your game. The greens are fair, though someone needs to explain ball mark repair to their normal constituency.

The range and putting green are fantastic. My only complaint is that they shoved too many lanes too close together on the range.

$45/ inc. cart was a little steep for a late morning weekday, but I suppose they are busy enough to justify the cost. I'll play here on occasion, but it certainly won't be a regular in my rotation.

Nice Facility

Nice Driving range and practice greens. The course was well maintained. The greens were slow but fair. this seems to be a popular course so the pace of play was slow.
The staff was friendly and the bar/Restaurant was very inviting. I particularly liked the outside patio bar.

Great course for the cost. Love the range as well.

Great course except for some reason on the practice putting green there are no holes to shoot in. Very odd.

good for a pre-season practice round

This course is fairly flat and wide open between the fairways, and the hazards are not unmanageable. It is a favorite of infrequent and beginning players so it's not uncommon to encounter players from several different groups in your fairway retrieving wayward shots. It's a friendly place but be prepared for a long round if you try on the weekend.

Impressive back 9

Front 9 only so-so, but the back 9 has some stong holes. Course was in good shape for the time of year. Played fast.

Nothing special

The deal off golfnow makes this course good value otherwise I don't think I would play here. Tons of leaves all over the place, greens had been aerated recently as well. Pace of play is usually pretty slow. Decent practice facility with the large putting green, chipping area, and grass tee range.

The course is good for all levels of golfers.

The course is a decent test. However, the fairways are not cut short enough and should you drive the fairways, you will not get a lot of roll. The same for the greens which are a little on the slow side. I guess they don't want the watering expense to cut the greens/fairways.

Course played well

Played the course with a buddy of mine. Had an overall enjoyable round. The greens were in pretty good condition with the exception of players not repairing their ball marks on the green. Can't blame the course for player laziness. However I found myself repairing approximately 6-8 ball marks per green. Got a little aggravating considering I paid them to play, they didn't pay me to fix the greens. I would play the course again though.

slow play, weak conditions, no ranger, poor value

Disappointed with my experience here. Haven't played this course in several years and now I know why. Pace of play was inexplicably slow. Course maintenance left much to be desired. Seems like they don't know about mowers. Cost is average but value is below average. Years ago it was a decent track but I find no reason to return here especially when there are neighboring courses such as The Arboretum which offers a much better experience all around at a similar cost. Additionally the staff at The Arboretum is far more pleasant. Better think twice before you book at Buffalo Grove Golf Club. You too will likely be disappointed.
