It's a municipal course temper expectations
Even though my partner and I didn't shoot well on the course it was more just mechanics than difficulty of the course itself. If you are looking for a quick dirty cheap golf fix this is your place. They have a couple of longer par 5's but the layout is both quite user friendly and easy. Rough isn't a factor even the water hazards weren't really that bothersome. Just wish we could have shot better this day and it could have been a wonderful day but when you hit short and do a lot of slicing and hooking of the ball it makes for a longer more brutal day. Some tees weren't tees just mowed down circles in the grass, and I think leaf mulching could have been done at 6am not 11am when people are looking around in piles of leaves for balls. Manager on duty was nice/friendly and it was a slow day so no beverage cart.
Burnham
Worst course I ever played... Never again...couldn't tell the fairways from the rough... Muddy and big puddles in all fairways and it hasn't rained
Would play elsewhere
Ton of leaves on greens. stay away after rain.
Fairways wide open.
Not many people at 9:15 am. Finished round in 3 hours (shoot in the 90s). Would have been faster since I waited on about 4-5 holes for people to finish.

Had a great experience all in all. I was very happy with the pace of play.
find someplace else
First we had to clean out the garbage from the golf cart.
We then had to start on the back nine. Five of nine holes had serious standing water even though it hadn't rained for 3 days.
We started on the back because, even though the course is closed on Mondays the decided to have their tree trimming service run their chipper and forklifts allover the course on Friday
By the 3rd hole we caught up with 3 eighty year old guys who would not let us play thru. At the turn we asked for someone to talk to them.
We were told, Sorry no starters or rangers today.
Finally we skipped a hole to go around them.
Fairways had grass clumps all over
Would not waste my time or money to play it again
Requires Serious Manicure
I love the game of golf. I have never referred to a golf course as a cow pasture. There is a first for everything. This course needs serious manicure. I wonder if their lawn mowers are in the shop. The grass was unbearable. The condition was a terrible. I will not be going back.
no upkeep on city course
it seemsthat no is in charge of at lease trying to keep the course playable.it's really sad that it's let go to the point of needed to be torn up and redone.
Serious waste of time and money
The fairways are more like the rough. The bunkers are pretty much a mix of concrete and clay. The greens are terrible. With all of the holes, good luck keeping the ball on a straight line.
For $30, you could do A LOT better. If this course was $5, I still wouldn't go back!
Cheap suburban course
If you want a well-priced but cheap course, this would be right up your alley.
The Rough is too rough
Not the best course for the high to average handicap player. The rough off the fairways is much too long. Missing the fairways and/or greens results in a ball search. Additionally, most if not all of the fairway sand traps, as well as, the green side bunkers have been filled with planted grass.
Playing this course in this current condition will not be a rewarding expierience for most.
unimpressed
Once I saw the golf course I became uninterested. It was a $15.00 to $20.00 course with nothing spectacular to talk about to me.
Close to the city, good to get a last minute round in
This course is about 30 minutes south of Chicago. It is a simple design that's in fair to below average condition. The greens are tiny which definitely adds to the difficulty of the course. This is a good place to sneak in 18 if you are booking a tee time last minute, but if you are looking for a good track, this is not your place.
Not maintained
Cheap rates make it worth while for the casual golfer. The course has a lot of full grown cotton wood trees that make it very scenic, however, it is not maintained well at all. There was a lot of grass clippings every where and bare spots. The sand traps are just dirt. With all this being said it was still enjoyable, you get what you pay for.
The course was very affordable and play was at a good pace. Assistant Manager Jeff was very informative and friendly. This was the first time playin
The course was very affordable and play was at a good pace. Assistant Manager Jeff was very informative and friendly. This was the first time playing at Burnham Woods and would definitely return and recommend to friends
