Under rated
Well maintained course with some diabolical greens. Very quick from above the hole. Except for 2 or 3 holes, layout pretty straightforward but with some challenging elevation changes on this hilly property.

Great course for the value
Cary Country Club is not the best course in the area, but it is the best value for 18 holes. Not a simple course, it has some hills and challenge. Great deck for a beer after a round.

Great trac
Played early spring and found conditions to be quite good. Always enjoy the friendly staff and playing the excellent layout. Will definitely be back again this year.

Old school course
Older country club charm, with mature trees and Hilly terrain. A creek and ponds that show up throughout course. The higher elevated tees make you feel like you're playing out of state...

Steep Greens
I've always enjoyed a round of golf at Cary Country Club. The elevated tees and hilly terrain is not typical for the greater Chicago market.
The only issue are the steep Greens. If you happen to golf on a day when the wind is blowing , good luck getting that ball into the hole. A simple 8 ft putt that you miss will end up either 15 ft away or get pushed off of the green
Unfriendly Staff
Had two groups playing back to back on a packed summer day. Wrongly accused by Marshall / Club house for not keeping pace with groups ahead when in reality the entire course was loaded. We would have to wait 10 minutes to tee off due to course being overly packed. Have been playing CCC for nearly 15 years, with no issues. Was told by Clubhouse manager that I wouldn't be allowed going back. That's fine, better courses in the area.
Time for a refresher
Very scenic course with a fine lay out. Staff is accomodating. No driving range. They used to have a net to hit into at least.
I wish they would mow the tee ares and either maintain the sand traps or sod them over. Occaisionally parts of the course are unplayable for days after a heavy rain. They should just create drainage ponds to avoid that.

Last round of the year in Chicago area
We took advantage of 50 degree weather to play in December for the first time ever (one benefit of global warming). It was our second time playing the course and we were all impressed. A very nice layout with interesting holes and three tough finishing holes. We'll be back next year. Only drawback it the lack of a driving range and REALLY SLOW service in the bar at the turn.
