Far Oaks Golf Club
About
Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville has a unique layout with a front nine that is designed in a Scottish-links style and a back nine that plays through rolling woodlands. The links holes are framed with native prairie grasses and wildflowers while mature oak trees line the fairways on the back nine. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course, making it hard to find a flat lie. Mounding and strategically placed bunkers lurk treacherously along the greensides and there are also several holes with water. Far Oaks Golf Club is a challenging course that demands accuracy, which is most apparent on the 10th hole. Although it's not the longest par 4 on the course, it is still challenging thanks to a slew of bunkers that border both sides of the green.

Good value
I love the layout of this course.
Tees and fairways are in great shape, greens had a lot of unrepaired ball marks.
Overall, good value for the money.
Nice course. Needs work around the greens
I'd give the course 4/5 for tees and fairways. Both were in pretty good condition. Unfortunately I'd have to give it a 2.5 at and around the greens. Bunkers are dirt and under filled, greens were running a little slow and bumpy. Guess you gotta pay slightly more and go to Stonewolf to get proper greens and bunkers. I still like the course and once thought of it as Stonewolf with a few less "teeth", but not in its present condition.
Course has a great layout
Fairways were excellent but greens didn't look so good
Love this course, but...
I love this course. Love the layout, the fairways, the greens, the tee boxes, etc. But until you can figure out how to maintain sand traps there is no way you can be a 5 star course. Still worth playing though.
View from the tips
Bunkers are very hard and in terrible condition.
Greens are consistent, but slow and bouncy.
fairways are inconsistent, but cut nicely.
overall, pretty nice layout and very challenging.
Nice Course!
The hot deal made this totally worth it! Super nice course that was in great shape.
One of the best public courses in metro STL
Far Oaks goes above and beyond to make your experience memorable. The staff was friendly, the course was in great shape, and the pace of play was 4 hours. Altogether, a beautiful day on an interesting golf course.
No starter
No Marshall
3.5 hours on the back nine because of slow play by two foursomes who violated every rule and etiquette of the game
Course should not open without course management on the course
Great course
Far oaks is fantastic which is the standard for a golf round their. Only complaint is the day was well overbooked. Zero rhythm, waiting 5-10 minutes to tee off almost every hole. Per usual a fun course.
Great day on the course
Great layout, great conditions, slow play as it was a beautiful Sunday. Will play there again. Not great for walking-unfortunately.
Don't waste your time
Dirt Bunkers! This course is not cheap and they will not purchase sand for the bunkers. Dirt does not react like sand when hitting a shot.
Great course!
Well kept, has a variety of challenging holes, & has a great mix of trees, water, and elevation. It's a lot of fun to play!
Great winter golf
We had the course to ourselves which was surprising being the temp was in the 40' with very little wind and some sunshine. The staff was professional and friendly. We didn't set any course records for score, but probably came close to the fastest round record. I'm looking forward to coming back this spring and playing this great layout again.
enjoyable round
Considering the number of players, pace of play was satisfactory. For the time of year, course is in great shape. As usual, staff was great. Always enjoy playing the course
Great coutse
