About
Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville has a unique layout with a front nine that is designed in a Scottish-links style and a back nine that plays through rolling woodlands. The links holes are framed with native prairie grasses and wildflowers while mature oak trees line the fairways on the back nine. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course, making it hard to find a flat lie. Mounding and strategically placed bunkers lurk treacherously along the greensides and there are also several holes with water. Far Oaks Golf Club is a challenging course that demands accuracy, which is most apparent on the 10th hole. Although it's not the longest par 4 on the course, it is still challenging thanks to a slew of bunkers that border both sides of the green.

Best course near downtown STL
I absolutely love this course, I live 40 minutes away but never mind the drive. The starting hole is a short par 5 to get your confidence started, followed by a fun par 3, then another par 5. The back 9 has 3 unique holes that are very fun to play. I am a 14 handicap but always play near par here, not that it's easy, it plays to my game and head too. The zoyia fairways are emaculate, they roll their greens and thus are very TRUE! Tee boxes are always in great shape. It's a great value. One of the best courses in the STL area. If you are coming into town, put this course on your list, my company had a users group meeting and stayed in the city. We carted everyone over and 100% said it was one of the best rounds they've had. Play it!
Far Oaks
First time playing course and it was a great experience for November. Only issues were the aerating of fairways and the slow rate of play.
Would definitely recommend the course and look forward to playing again.
Just aerated greens but still nice
Neat course. Not too hard not too easy. Good value just too far for me. 45 miles away

Exceptional fairways. I play immediately after a large tournament. Greens were well used and still true.
Excellent for the money. I got a hot deal off of golfnow for $15.00
There was a league or something going on so the front nine took a while, but once they got out of the way it played quick. Green were a little bumpy but rest of course was excellent.
Hottest day of the year
For the temperature we have been having the course is in excellent shape.
water n bunkers
Course got 8" of rain on the weekend and it was cart path only Tuesday. Rain ruined 90% of the bunkers. All the water coolers were empty on the back 9 when it was 90* and 90% humidity.
Fun to play
The course is in excellent shape. Lots of good characteristics you look for in a golf course. Blind shots, water hazards, reachable par 5s, really fun to play. The only problem I saw was that the yardage on the card is probably wrong. If you play, play from the tips. The 1st hole is a par 5 and I hit driver, 7 iron onto the green. There is a 340 yd par 4 on the back & I hit 5-wood off the tee and was greenside. All in all though, the layout is nice and the fairways are perfect.

Course in great shape. Pace was awesome, no one in front or behind. Finished 18 in 3 hours. What happen to GPS on carts? New carts seem smaller and lack GPS that last year's models had.

Nice course with interesting holes - greens were smooth and fairways were good. Bunkers are terrible
great experience-I will be back
My second time to play here--great conditions (some tee boxes are a little scruffy)--friendly staff in pro shop, restaurant , and on the course--finally a " local" course with a starter--I find this a much needed "amenity"--new scorecards with yardages are great--with new added yellow tees there are some yardage discrepancies between the new scorecards and stone tee box markers--also, some par 3 tee boxes have no yardage markers on the tee box while others do-- overall, I would highly recommend the experience of Far Oaks!

Awesome Course
We began our round at 4:00pm, and experienced a nicely paced round. The course was in excellent condition and it plays a little long but enjoyable. I played from the women's tee and only golf about once ever six to eight weeks so I was excited to walk away with 86. I will certainly play this course again.
Sorry we didn't take advantage of the 19th hole.
Finally sand
Nice course. Finally putting some sand in the traps, good work! Efforts to get the course into shape are really paying off.
Great track
Everything about this facility is A+. this is not a big hitters course. More of a thinking mans course. Highly recommend.
Slow - Slow - Slow
Need a ranger on the course to manage team play for a round of golf!!! Several areas around the green were in poor shape and a couple "under construction".
Another good round at Far Oaks
Enjoyed another round today at Far Oaks. The course was in great shape and despite the fact it was Father's Day, the pace of play was excellent. We waited to tee off maybe twice all day.
The greens and fairways were in very good condition.
