Far Oaks Golf Club
About
Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville has a unique layout with a front nine that is designed in a Scottish-links style and a back nine that plays through rolling woodlands. The links holes are framed with native prairie grasses and wildflowers while mature oak trees line the fairways on the back nine. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course, making it hard to find a flat lie. Mounding and strategically placed bunkers lurk treacherously along the greensides and there are also several holes with water. Far Oaks Golf Club is a challenging course that demands accuracy, which is most apparent on the 10th hole. Although it's not the longest par 4 on the course, it is still challenging thanks to a slew of bunkers that border both sides of the green.

Love this course
A few of the greens were stressed, but the course was in perfect shape otherwise. I love playing this course
far oaks
Good fairways...course in good shape. ..overall great time
Golf course is very nice.
Far oaks golf course is very most nice condition.
but, green is not good butting condition. I have seen many devot and sand on the green.
Great value
The Far Oaks course is in great shape. The fairways are like carpet and the greens are quick and challenging. Overall a fun and challenging experience.
Great Course!!
The course is in better shape than any other metro east course that I've played this year. Great GPS on the cart and a great scorecard with hole-by-hole information. Unreal that you can find sub $30 deals during the week.
Great Course Design
This is a great course. I played this course twice this spring and it was in great shape. We were VERY disappointed in that the greens are in terrible shape; multiple unrepaired ball marks, hole cups that appear to not have been relocated in days and bare or brown spots. This was surprising considering that the fairways and first cut were in great shape.
Great course ,Where are the marshals?
First I love this course. It was in great shape. The foursome in front of us was clueless. 125 yard drive on a par 5 and wait for the green to clear. No marshals. At the turn they got hot dogs and we watched them eat. Nice course . Slowest round of the year. teed off at three finished at dark.
Fantastict!
Service in the clubhouse was excellent. We got there early and they let us tee off early. Tee boxes like carpet. fairways were perfect and withstood the off and on rain throughout the day. Greens were a bit slow but rolled true. Sand bunkers were excellent. This is one of the best courses in the area. The surrounding houses are beautiful to view and do not come into play. Please remember to repair your ball mark plus one! When you're done, take your appetite to Lotawata Creek restaurant and try the massive burgers and sweet tea!
This course is very challenging, but is also very fun to play
This course is one of my all-time favorites. It is a challenging course that is very entertaining to play. Staff is very friendly and course is beautiful.
Good Course could be Great
Far Oaks is well maintained and has some very interesting tee shots. One of my favorite course to play. Greens are well protected with bunkers. The bunkers need some work and the greens have quite a few ball marks, other than that the course is in GREAT Shape. No Marshall on a Sunday was an interesting choice. When we arrived the course was wide open, however 4 groups went off in front of us. One group was 2 - 3somes that were playing quite slow..
The course has out standing fairways and the greens were very good
The fairways and greens are an immaculate, The pace of the play was very rapid through 15 holes, and then we had to wait for holes 16 through 18. Total round was three hours and 45 minutes. Very good
Far Oaks is one of the best public courses in St. Louis. Interesting layout, in great condition.
I had a great experience playing there this last time as I have had each time I have played there. I would definitely recommend it as a top public course to play in and around st. Louis. The layout is challenging and scenic, particularly the back nine where there are no houses, only lush forest. The course is in very good condition. The only complaint would be an excess of poorly repaired ball marks on the greens, and the greens ran too slowly the day i played.
I had a great experience playing there and would definitely recommend it as a top public course to play in and around st. Louis.
playable and challenging from the blues.
Great condition and not overpriced. Pace is great and after 3 rounds played, there are still new features and shots that make it interesting.
Course is in great condition
Took an out of town guest who has a home in Pinehurst, NC...he was very impressed with the course and it's condition.
A fun course for a hacker like me. Wide fairways but deep rough. Convenient.
Had a fun time as a threesome on a slow round on the 4th of July, a busy day at the course. Well maintained and managed. The tees, fairways, and greens were in great shape. Has both links type holes and tree-lined fairways on other holes. The rough is very deep. Keep the ball in the wide fairways. The clubhouse was clean and comfortable, but the bar maid was slow and needed help for the number of customers. Convenient to St. Louis City and County.
best bang for the buck.
love the fairways and the greens roll nice,if folks would just repair their divots on the greens it would be top notch.
Good course to play
Course was in great shape, the greens rolled pretty good, good to see them eliminating some of the sand traps on the course.
nice course, excellent layout, close to STL
we played this course recently and is was really nice. it had rained that morning so the course was wide open. it is kind of short for longer players but it requires lots of shot making.
I had a great time.
I loved th fairways and greens. However the bunkers need a lot of tender love and care. Fix them wih new drains and sand, and it will be the fabulous coarse it once was.
Great course, beautiful!
Fun & challenging! Staff always friendly! Always kept up well even after all this rain. Don't like all the old bunkers that were filled in but still a great course to play!
