Far Oaks Golf Club
About
Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville has a unique layout with a front nine that is designed in a Scottish-links style and a back nine that plays through rolling woodlands. The links holes are framed with native prairie grasses and wildflowers while mature oak trees line the fairways on the back nine. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the golf course, making it hard to find a flat lie. Mounding and strategically placed bunkers lurk treacherously along the greensides and there are also several holes with water. Far Oaks Golf Club is a challenging course that demands accuracy, which is most apparent on the 10th hole. Although it's not the longest par 4 on the course, it is still challenging thanks to a slew of bunkers that border both sides of the green.

Hole #16 is awesome!!!!!!!!
Course was great, staff was great can't wait to play it again
The course was in great shape
I enjoyed every minute of playing. The staff was very gracious and the course was beautiful
The BEST fairways
Without a doubt the best fairways I have played on in 3 years (so good it felt like you could club down by 1/2 club). Some blind holes off the tee but you could follow the scorecard layout, other than that the course was in front of you. A DEFINITE must to play!!
nice course
Very nice course that is simple but difficult. Golf now describes the carts having gps but they don't. Can't wait to play again when it isn't raining.
Late Day Rain
New carts are really nice. Course rounding into shape after hard winter.
Slow play due to cup matches in front of us...you're not on tour, pick up the pace.
beautiful as usual
Course is always in great condition. Worth the price, just to costly for my blood. Thats why I always schedule tee times through golfnow.com. usually pay between 35-40$ though the site. 60-70 $ is regular price.
Excellent course but play was so delayed.
I booked this course by golfnow.com, with good hot deal pricing despite driving 1 hour from my home.I have played at this course, liking very much. On this playing day there was a group of tournament ,causing almost 1 hour delaying to play. But course was well maintained and excellent condition, I am a senior and played at white tee box, a little challenging to me but overall I and my wife enjoyed plaing other than initial frustration from delay. Fee was very excellent to course. Recommend to play at this course.
great course
This course was in great condition, challenging but fairly open. The pace was a little bit on the slow side, there were several foursomes around the same time, and I could see a couple people and those foursomes hitting multiple balls. but other than that we had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend this course.
Tough but fair
Great layout. Has both challenging holes and birdie opportunities. Our fourth player was late as usual but the starter was nice and accommodated us.
Great course
All holes are fair, you do your part, you'll do well. Could use restrooms on course though
One of the finest golf courses in the area. Ideal for the mid-handicappers!
Far Oaks has been one of my favorite courses to play. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are always in great shape. Enough doglegs to keep it interesting throughout the round.
No gps??
This course is advertised with gps and doesnt have gps on the carts. There were no markers anywhere on the course either. It is pretty frustrating to play golf when you dont know your distances.
Cabin fever cure
Course was in good shape considering we've had a bad winter, wish the practice range would allow for more than just irons to be used. Great course absolutely would play there again.
Love Far Oaks
Far Oaks is easily one of the top few courses in the STL area.
Play there. That's pretty much all you need to know.
One of the nicest courses in the area!
Well kept course with plenty of challenging holes. Some holes were wide open, some had hidden shots, some were in the woods, and some were in the nice housing of Far Oaks. Greens were clean and consistant through all 18. I enjoyed this course and will play it again.
We really enjoyed the wildlife: deer, owls, hawks, racoons, but not these geese. Holes 17 & 18 had too many goose minefields, which included the greens.
Fun Course
This course is quite nice, easily in the top 10 publics around STL.
The opening hole is an enticing short par 5 that can either get your round started right or kill it early if you get greedy/stupid. Because you tee off right in front of the clubhouse/ practice swing you tend to want to showboat a bit, which will get you in trouble!
This course isn't overly difficult and doesn't have all the cute bunkers down the way at Stonewolf, but its fun, challenging while still allowing scoring opportunities for the average golfer.
I highly recommend!
Good early morning loop.
Cart path only makes it a little slower than normal. Was warranted, many soggy fairways. Course in good condition, greens rolled great except for the many golfers who never repair their ball marks on greens. Averaged at least 2 repairs on every green!! Come on people!!!!!
Fall golf at Far Oaks
We got a great deal on Golf Now. Course was in great condition. Greens and the pace of play was a little slow but overall a great experience.
