Klein Creek Golf Club

About
Klein Creek Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling prairieland in the western suburbs of Chicago. Trees frame the layout's gentle doglegs and tall prairie grasses border the fairways. It is a golf course that offers both beautiful scenery and a challenging round. Several lakes also dot the landscape, coming into play on almost every hole. The abundant water hazards are often coupled with spacious, intricately designed bunkers that are also usually paired with wood retaining walls. Contoured mounding frames the fairways and greens as well. Klein Creek Golf Club's layout is not easy by any means but it's fair, offering room for error on even the tougher holes with wide fairways and generous landing areas. There are a variety of approach options for the greens as well, providing great risk-reward opportunities.

This is a challenging course with a lot of water.
Greens were the best I’ve seen in October! Well maintained-beautiful sandtraps(i was in 3)
Great Track
Great course, friendly staff, tough with the wind. First time and will be back to try to improve on my score.
Love how it winds thru the houses and neighborhood.
Major Improvements
Klein Creek was not a course I would look to play. It was in poor condition on all 18 holes plus pro shop & restaurant etc was in need of serious updating.
After playing this Friday, a total 180 and I’ll be looking to play Klein Creek again. Cheers to new owner and all his staff and the General Manager getting the course looking good. Keep up the improvements .
Klein Creek
The starter was confused and not friendly. Otherwise everything else was fine.
Fast 9 at Fine Klein
Enjoyed playing 9 at Klein Creek with friends moving along quickly without any delays until a storm blew in. The course had a few soggy spots due to recent rain, but we were impressed with early autumn course conditions, the beauty of the course and white soft sand in the traps. The course is a bit narrow which may present some difficulties for the out of control long hitters. Some nice dog legs and actually well manicured fairways and greens. We loved it and plan to replay before year end!
From Sweden
This is a good course that with just a little TLC could be a great course.
One thing is that the some pins were placed in severe slopes making it almost impossible
Don’t bother
This course probably used to be great. Now it’s beat up, under staffed & overpriced. Tons of GUR, no water on entire course, no benches or ball washers, 4 orange construction type garbage bins scattered throughout. So many other options… take them.
Simple things matter
Course needs yardage markers in the fairways.
For the money too many bunkers were under repair.
Has the chance to be a great course, but need some simple improvements.
Scores high on the unique factor for midwest
Played Sunday 650a tee time. I would compare the course to some nicer resort community courses in FL and tucked into a development. Fairly tight. Greens are tough and were rolling quick for moist morning conditions. Conditions of course were solid and conditions of greens were very good. Tee boxes were a little beat from an event the day before but decent overall. Definitely more of a precision course forcing you to keep driver in the bag if you hit over 250 yards on several holes. Staff was nice and rangers were active. We waited a little but the rangers were on it and we played in around 4-4:15. I could see why as a higher handicapper could have a rough day there ad hence the need for active rangers policing pace of play. Not a place you want to rip beers and shoot 100. But if you like a precision course and value quick and difficult greens, you will like the course a lot. Nothing that is too similar in the immediate area so high scores on uniqueness factor.
Better experience
I had not played Klein Creek in almost four years. They are obviously trying to improve the experience by getting rid of the broken asphalt cart paths in favor of rolled dirt/gravel, and calling dirt laced bunkers unplayable with a drop zone and a plan to grass those bunkers over in the future. Still a challenging course and tees and greens were pretty good after almost a full summer of play. Carts could use some sand to help out the grounds crew on tees and approaches. We got behind a very slow foursome and the staff needed to monitor that and goad them on to pick up the pace. All in all, a better experience versus under the old ownership, and improvements were noticeable. Worth the money.
Course has no ball washers,no garbage cans, cart path is a mess. Staff was minimal, no one at club house at the turn to get a beverage or food from. Finally had front desk person go to kitchen for us. Ranger on Course asked us to skip a hole, saying we were holding up play when there was no one infront of us or behind us! Played 18 for the first time playing there in 4hrs 20min. Will not be going back.
