Rock Hard Concrete Conditions - bring your ground game
See my review of 5/5/18 for further details. This is a lovely 1927 Bendelow that winds through a neighborhood except the houses don't really come into play. A fun interesting routing two par 4's start but then your next par 4 is the 10th... it's as hard as a rock (hammer to get your tee in) and fairways are running so hard and fast you have to have a good ground game and know what side of the fairway to hit to because your ball will roll to the lower side of it. Greens suffer because of they've lost size over the years so bring your A up and down game. Greens were okay just not as fast as you're used to. A good value $35 is top rate (it's a $20-$25 course) and they give you a small bucket of range balls (for free!) to warm up with. In decent shape for what it is with a really nice old school feel. Friendly folks and decent beverage prices. Recommend for value and historic design.
Great time at Lincoln Oaks today . Bob does a great great job there
Nice course but was paired with a twosome that was just starting to learn how to play, made the pace of play slower then usual. Other then that enjoyed the round.
Mother Nature
We played a nice crisp nine holes and then the sky's opened up and we were never able to finish the back nine cause of flooding. I hope to be able to play all 18 another time. Very nice layout.
Lincoln Oaks
Great value and excellent pace of play. Staff very friendly. No snack bar and kitchen closed all day mondsy
South Suburban gem
Today's round was hampered by rain after 9 holes, but was given a rain check for a later date. Course was in good shape considering all the rain recently.
Held up to rains well
Only one hole was cart path only, others 90 degrees, greens in excellent shape for early season, rough was a little high but that was due to the recent rains
Wet put playable
After some heavy rains the past few days, the course recovered well. The fairways were in good condition, along with the greens. The rough was a bit too long because of the wet conditions. Still, a good round of golf.
Value round of golf
Very windy on the course, but kept moving with no delays in play. Course in great shape for April. Great bargain.
