Carriage Greens Country Club

This is my first time reviewing any course. My day started as any round of golf should... With openness and courtesy from the staff in the clubhouse. After receiving the tips from the staff regarding the course and my style of play, the ranger was accommodating to get me off with a group or by myself (my choosing). Somewhat pressed for time... I decided to go it alone.

After passing a foursome on hole 3, my play was uninhibited and relaxing. The course was in top shape and the greens.... Remarkable. A lot of local courses in the same price range as Carriage Greens have greens that are beat up, in dire need of attention. Not carriage greens. It's amazing how much better your short game/putting game improves when the greens are cared for correctly.

The course was not too challenging. Relatively short par 5s with some somewhat- short par fours allow for a lower scoring round. The course is wide open with the occasional fairway bunker and tree line. I'm wasn't looking for a super difficult course and enjoy those that are straightforward.

This course is a hidden gem and very accessible from just about any southwest suburb. If you haven't played this course, you need to.

Played Sunday morning. Got a discount on Golfnow and did not expect much as I have played there before. But pace of play much slower and no rangers going around to make people keep pace. Really took away from the round. I did not expect a 5-star course but do expect etiquette and for golfers to keep pace of play up. Also bunkers in poor shape, not raked, and not consistent amount of sand. Just about all the distances were off on the course signs, glad I had a gps on the phone. Not worth the few bucks you would save rather spend more and play somewhere else. Took 5 1/2 to 6 hours to play the round.

Better course conditions this time around (last played in the fall where leaves were a major issue). Still very dry which was helpful to get some extra distance on fairways but greens almost unfair.

Tons of houses just off a few fairways so ACCURACY is a must. Back 9 more enjoyable than the front. Thankful to the considerate golfers that were in front of us. Something you dont see everywhere these days but playing as a two-some with my brother on a Friday afternoon we were able to finish a full 18, starting at 5pm with some sunshine to spare.

Was not able to purchase a beer at 5:00 in the evening because "the coolers were locked." Rate... Of... Play...

As I had a great day playing 18 holes, my friends and I noticed that there was only ONE water station for the whole 18 holes and it wasn't until the 13th hole!! On hot days the course should keep their golfers hydrated and have at least a water station in the first 9 holes!

Wanted to walk 9 holes in the morning, so I did that at my hometown course & then grabbed a good deal at Carriage Greens. Paired with a couple of good guys Mike & Dan. Had a great day. Shot a good round for me. Pace was decent. Not waiting at all which was a bog improvement to the previous week.

First time playing here. Clubhouse staff were great. Beautiful course. Will come back.

Followed a foursome that took at least 10 min for all to tee off at every hole. Course wasn't busy. Took about 5 hours to complete round that should've taken 3 1/2 to 4 only. This place has really taken a turn for the worse in the last few years. It really was a great course with a great location. Looks like they are making efforts to improve so hopefully it will get back to the way it used to be.

I hadn't played at Carriage Greens in several years and was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. The greens rolled and held well. Some of the holes seem a little unfair as they are very tight or have sharp doglegs but, all in all, it was a fun afternoon and I will definitely go back.

The course was in very good condition. The pace of play was good only because slower players let us play through. The staff was efficient, competent and friendly.

This course is a great course to go to last minute. I did get stuck behind a few older golfers which cause pace to slow, however course is enjoyable enough to take your time. Played this course a ton of times. Always enjoyed. They are continuing to make improvements which is nice. The short game training area is new and nice. New driving range coming.

The staff were very accommodating and are constantly trying to improve the course.

Great course great staff!!!!!

They have new management effective late April. The previous GM was let go, wasn't very people friendly. Many changes already starting to take place. Brian and Pepi running the golf operation, very helpful.

Looking forward to making this my home course.

got a great deal for $20 to walk 18 holes...day turned out to be nicer than expected...glad I went...course was in good shape and staff was great.

Course lost many trees to the ash bore Beatle, so course very wet. I hope it will dry out during golf season with no trees to absorb all the water

Great course. It's a good course for beginners and decent players as well.
Good food and friendly people.

2 greens were out of commission due to construction. prior rains in the last week made it impossible to mow the grass properly and as a result piles and piles of grass clippings were everywhere and you had to clean your spikes 2-3 time per hole. many sand traps were still full of standing water even after 3 days since the last rain. The greens had almost healed from the full aeration and sanding they did. In an effort to be honest golf courses should tell you up front what the conditions are before they take your money. Had we know it was this crummy we would have golfed elsewhere.
