River Heights Golf Course

I have played the course many times. Yesterday was probably the last time. The GM checked us in and said we owed for carts!? I purchased the tee time for 3 that included carts. She said no deal, collected for carts and said she would call golf now while we were on the course. When we finish she was gone. We explained the situation to the assistant on duty any got our cart fees refunded. Not sure what the issue is between the course and golf now, but it's apparent there is one.

My friends and I really like the course and the people there are very nice, but we don't need the hassles..

One of the best courses out there. Always liked the course and with the outstanding sandtraps and great course condition, even more.

Course is in great shape and greens are awesome shape, despite the up and down weather conditions.

I think this is a very fun course to play. It’s easy to find and accessible. Everything is right there too, it’s very easy to manage. When we played, the fairways were LONG….I do wish they would cut them back a little. The clubhouse in which to pay is TINY and uncomfortable. I have seen some comments about the people that work here…..listen to me, they are GREAT, but they work in a cramped environment and when it gets busy, it’s gotta raise anxiety. When we got there, we had a line out the door….waiting to pay….it’s probably time to upgrade this section of course….charge $40 a person and put that money towards the clubhouse.

Tee boxes were rough. Need to be cut. Rough was longer than I remember. Need water coolers on course.

Golf carts are a nice upgrade.

My son & I went to play this course in DeKalb, IL and we highly recommend it. Moderately challenging layout & pace of play was great. Definitely coming back!

I have played this course twice this spring, and the greens are horrible. I know its spring, so I have very low expectations. However, the greens were heavily aerated, and made putting a joke. While scores early in the year are not a true indication of skill, much higher scores do negatively affect enjoyment. This round of golf was painful and I will not be playing this course again anytime soon.

This is a great course, friendly staff, fun layout. Got a little back up, but not too bad for a weekend. Totally worth the drive from the fox valley area.

Everything is kind of dry. Some car paths are in real bad shape. Greens are pretty slow. I enjoy the course, but it’s nothing special.

Checking in on mobile did not work at all so I had to check in manually in the pro shop. This process took at least 20 minutes as I tried to find my reservation and verify. There was quite a line of people trying to do the same thing and it took a very long time. It feels like they were very understaffed.

The fairways were very long and have not been cut In a while. Overall, I think the course was in subpar shape. I played there last year and thought it was much worse than before. Maybe this was just an off day?

In short: River Heights delivers on all fronts—service, scenery, gear, and atmosphere. A day here feels like a gift to your mind, body, and spirit. Highly recommend!
