About
Stonewolf Golf Club is one of only four courses designed by Jack Nicklaus in Illinois and Missouri and it is also one of his only public access designs. Nicklaus created a shotmaker's layout with a variety of different holes. He also incorporated his signature style of bunkering, which you'll remember for their shape, design, and placement. This is not a golf course where you'll be able to just grip it and rip it. Thoughtful strategy and careful club selection off the tees are essential for doing well. Stonewolf Golf Club opens with a tough trio of holes, ending with a short par 4 that requires a forced carry to a severe green that features a tricky elevation change right in the middle of the surface. There is also a lateral hazard on the left, and five bunkers bordering the right side.

TOP NOTCH COURSE
VERY Challenging course with plenty of forced carries and hitting zones. You must place the ball into specific yardages or your thru the fairways, or in the water. 140 slope rating challenging to any serious golfer.
Definitely a Favorite
I always have a good time when I play the Wolf. They got a little cute with all the sand when they designed it, but it has an awesome layout and gives the golfer an opportunity to use all of their clubs. It's more than just a driver off the tee course. It also have some of the best ball prospecting spots of any course out there. Every time I go, I leave with A LOT more balls than I started with!
Great features get a cart.
Great Course. Will challenge all levels of player's. Excellent public course with countryclub feel.
Well laid out course that is fun to play.
Course conditions are pretty good including the traps. Greens roll nicely. Staff is friendly and good place for a beverage after completing round.
Great condition...Great view...Great fun!
I went out for a day with my son just to get a round in to work on his game. We ended up having a outstanding experience. The course was challanging, but not irritating. The bunkers tested our range calculations. The view was perfect on a beautiful fall day. I can't wait to play here again.
Good course in general
Lately there is too many people which slows down the course to minimum 4:15 heures the last time we went before this time it took us close to 5 hours because we had to wait at every tee off.
