This course is worth every penny. As nice and difficult as any my friends and I play. If it were closer we would play it much more often...
This course offers a wide range of challenges
This was my 3rd time playing this course. I like the scenery and the surroundings. Each hole offers a certain amount of challenges, but nothing too difficult. The greens appeared to be in excellent condition along with the tee boxes. I will be coming back and have already recommend this course to a friend
Sand traps
I and three other guys played the course about two weeks ago and found it in. EXCELLENT condition. I told several of my friends that they should play a round at this course. I was most impressed by the conditions of the neatly racked sand traps! Sadly to say, I played yesterday with my wife and stepson and found the course was in great shape except for all of the sand traps. I went into the clubhouse at the end of our round and said this same concern to the young guy working there at that time. He said he would pass that information on. I plan to come back soon. and I hope the sand traps are in a respectable condition.
What a turnaround!
After being closed and unmaintained for awhile, this course is back and better than before. Fairways are nicely cut and the greens are meticulous. Overall, this course is in really nice shape.
Still the same layout. Hills, blind greens, and forgiving fairways. I think the higher level golfer could find a challenge or two here.
One bone picking is the lack of yardage markers in the fairways. You need to guess yourself or use a tool. But we did our best guessing, which didn't end up too bad.
Hilly...
Beautiful course. Very hilly so you definitely need the course guide on the score card if you've never played there.
Secret gem in Northern Lake County
First off it was a great morning for golf on Sunday 5/22/22. Laura and crew were up early making sure everything was ready for the early crowd. Clean carts, groomed fairways, watered greens and a friendly yet attentive ranger made for a great round of golf.
Perfect Neighborhood Course
We live close to Fox Lake Country Club so makes it easy to hop on the course. Nice course layout, most holes are a little tight, lots of mature trees. My only complaint are the greens and surrounding rough. The greens including the putting green (which is very small) could use a little maintenance.
We will go back - as it is a perfect neighborhood course.
Worth it for the drive
Although it’s about an hour from Chicago, I think taking a drive out here is worth it. The elevation changes were a great experience which is different than a lot of Illinois courses. It just rained hard the day before and the course was actually more dry than I expected. The only con was the amount of worms on the greens. I’ve never seen so many live worms on greens but they were still rolling true and weren’t that slow even with the rain. I’ll be back here for sure in the summer.
Great place to play.
People are friendly great layout of course and most of all the beverage cart girl is super nice... Thanks for a great round of golf Fox lake..
