Great Course - BUT STAY AWAY I WANT it to myself.
This course is in great shape and it has to be re-rated & sloped. It plays harder than it was 3 years ago yet it's rating and slope is still the same. I mean try the 7th hole!
Great golf course
After all the rain the night before the course played tremendously well.
Best greens I’ve played all year.
The staff was friendly and very helpful
Friendly Course
Fun course in good shape after a ton of rain. The renovation helped the drainage system. Only criticism was they didn’t mention greens were being aerated and were unplayable.
Great find!
Course is in great shape. Beautiful course layout and some interesting, challenging holes.
fun day
Great day of golf at Glenview Park. Decent track. Great conditions. Fun.
Great value
The golf was in nice condition with smooth greens that were rolling 9-9.5. A short but challenging layout that penalized shots that were on the wrong side of the fairway or too long. I would play it again.
Getter Better
Since the transformation of a couple of years ago, the golf course has become well manicured and a challenge. Course plays longer than yardage. Greens are exceptional!
Course is great!
The course was in great shape... especially for late October!
Nice public course for the area
Much like many of the courses in the North Shore the design demands accuracy. The fairways are typically narrow. Holes are situated next to each other. An errant shot can easily result in either another fairway, green or tee box. Our foursome played it at 5,900 yards. Although typically that distance is not long it is definitely a benefit to have solid carry. The conditions promoted little fairway roll. Course layout is challenging especially for first timers. Pace of play is enforced with rangers, but there were a few holes where we waited a couple minutes. I would be willing to play there again. The only con is that there is no driving range.
Course was nice, staff was not friendly
I approached the starter stand 15 minutes before my tee time. The man asked for my name, which i provided, and he quickly glanced at his tee sheet, pointed his finger in my face and said loudly, raising his hands, "YOU ARE ON THE TEE." I told the man that my tee time was scheduled for 12:40 PM, and that I had 15 minutes to be on the tee, and that I would be ready at that time. I walked away as he mumbled beneath his breath. I bought some food from the clubhouse and came back to find that the starter had changed shifts with someone new, and had shared the false information with the new starter about my group. I got the 3rd degree from the new starter, regarding my tee time. He sternly talked to me about etiquette and timeliness without allowing me to say a word. I asked him to please listen, and he finally let up. We reviewed his tee sheet together and noticed that the group before ours also was under the name "Chris", and that was the group that had been late.
The starter did not apologize for his mistake. Rather, he said that I had 5 minutes to be on the tee (5 feet away) and turned inward, away from the window, his back to me.
This experience alone is enough to say I will not go back. I interacted with two starters in ten minutes who were completely unprofessional. The staff was condesending, demanding, and unapologetic. It was one of the worst encounters I have had with someone in a service role.
Glenview Park
The course was recently renovated and is now in excellent shape . The greens werereally rolling well and it was a very enjoyable round. Staff very accomadating as well . Definitely playing again.
Good but not great
Course is an average couse that presents a challenge for teenagers and seniors. Par 4s and 5s are short. Very good condition but pace of play is very slow. If you are looking to walk and a 5hr round, good for you.
Greedy course. Slowest round ecer
2.5 hours to play 7 holes on a Sunday evening. Shocking. Way too many groups. No course marshal.
Great Re-design
We read about the big re-design and just had to check it out for ourselves. It did not disappoint. Working with a land locked property Mr. Jacobson made it come alive again. Small changes to layout coupled with much needed work to the green complexes, fairway bunkering, and water management all make the new site pop.
Always great to see maintenance workers and supervisors scurrying around sprucing things up, and the general shape of things here was very pleasing.
Atmosphere around the clubhouse and on the front patio made this public course feel almost like a private club.
Beautiful Course
This course is just beautiful. Each hole is a pleasure to play.
The difficulty of this course comes from the large amount of sand traps. If you are long ball hitter the traps never really come into play off the drive, just on your approach shot. The conditions on this course are great and if you can find a deal I HIGHLY recommend playing this course.
The downside of this course is the pace of play. We played on a Friday afternoon and it took us over 5 hours.
