Excellent Course
Best public golf course in Chicagoland area. Challenging course; greens surrounded by bunkers and terrain impeccable.
Very friendly staff with new and renovated restaurant with outdoor seating. Enjoyed playing the course.
Target golf w/great conditions.
GPGC was in great shape. Greens are smooth & med-fast. Smallish greens & narrow fairways& 3 of 4 par 3's are tough, at or near 200yds. Price is a little high for a flat, back & forth, course, but it gets my approval, 'cause it's in such good shape .
Great value
Played this course yesterday. Staff was wonderful and very friendly. The course was challenging from the tips and in great shape. Pace of play was OK at 4:40 for 18 holes. Cost was very good if walking and ok for riding. Ate at Cafe and food and service was excellent. Definitely would play here again.
Kudos to the Reno
The renovation to this course was worth every penny. Great job by the architects and workers for turning a flat somewhat dull course into an exciting much tougher golf course.
Weekend in Chicago
We were looking for a course close to downtown. The course was excellent. Only negative was pace of play (around 5 hours).
Great Conditions, Great Course, Great Walk
This was my first visit to GP. After looking at the card, my buddy and I (both low handicaps) thought for sure we would go low. The course still proved to be a good test. The course is very fair and protected by a thick but fair rough and bunkering. The course was in fantastic condition. Greens were virtually perfect. We chose to walk and it was a great walk. Loved the course and will go back for sure.
Fun day
The new greens are great. Very fast and fun to play. Also, added many sand traps. Traps have good sand. I should know I was in about 8 of them... Also, the course keeps the rough about 2 inches. Very challenging when you miss the fairways. Overall a good test of golf. Would recommend.
A Pleasant Surprise!
I played this course years ago and I always enjoyed it. This was the first time since the renovation and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The fairways and greens were gorgeous and firm, the bunkers and traps were well cared for and challenging along with the rough. Did I say the greens were darn near perfect and quick.The weather was perfect, 70 degrees and pure sunshine. Hats of to the Glenview Park District.
