Conditions are deplorable
Right now 15 greens are absolutely smoked to brown surface, they claim their rough mower is out of service, and they still want $50 to play a round. The course is virtually unplayable as golf. Even the staff is embarrassed about the situation. I’d avoid this one at all costs.
Go Elsewhere!
Course in awful shape. Criminal for them to charge me $50 when every green is burnt, every fairway is a rough, every tee box is overgrown. Your better off going anywhere else
Poor course conditions & no food
Unfortunately, the greens were in horrible conditions due to a maintenance issue and we were not made aware until we got there. About 15 holes had unacceptable greens. No discount was applied to make up for this.
The rough grass conditions made it almost impossible to find balls that landed inside the bounds of each hole. Lastly, we were unable to grab food before the second half since the restaurant staff had left due to “not enough customers”.
Pros: driving range is good and the staff is friendly
THEY LOST THE GREENS --- DO NOT PLAY
Most every green has been lost either to over fertilization or poor watering or both. Many greens are bare patches of dirt/dead grass.
Tee box and overall maintenance are poor and/or non existent. Not sure what the issues are....but there are many. Suggest passing on this for 2026...maybe give it a try in 2027.
Greens need help
I have always liked the course layout, and have played there for years. However, the greens burnt out this spring due to issues they are having. Man working in the pro shop said there are plans to try and get them back into shape by next summer.
Great Play
It might need improvement but I knew it will get better at playing. Hoping course playing fee stays the same when it gets better course especially the greens.
Burn greens
14/18 greens are totally dead. Do not play. I had a hot deal, so it was non refundable.
If they took care of the course I would play again in a heartbeat. The course itself is a good layout. But with no greens, crappy teeboxs.
Could be an awesome cross country course in this condition.
Atrocious condition
Won’t play here again. The greens are bunt, no grass, all brown. Rough not mowed in a long while. Tee boxes in bad shape. Fairways very patchy. Just plain brutal conditions.
Mother Nature has taken over
The greens were horrendous, and that’s the good news. Your ball needs to stay on the fairway otherwise it’s a lost ball. Grass in the rough is over your shoelaces. Mother nature has taken the course back. It used to be such a great place to play. Whoever is in charged, please get funding and don’t let nature reclaim it.
Great track horribly maintained
This is a tough one for me. This course has a really cool layout and some great shots. It is just horribly maintained. They said they did not have mowers for the rough yet and it showed. Really good deal though.
Heed the warnings, don’t play here
Stopped after 9 because of how poor the conditions were. The staff thankfully gave a heads up and were very kind. They’re put in a tough spot. Go play down the road at Lake Bluff same price, beautiful conditions and nice people.
Warning!!!!
Soooooo disappointed and upset. Course looks as if it’s been abandoned. It’s criminal that management doesn’t provide any information on the condition of the course. Apparently, course machinery has been broken so grass hasn’t been mowed so rough is insane. No weed control so if you do hit your ball in the fairway you still can’t find it because it looks just like all the other weeds. Greens on the back nine weren’t green, they were dirt patches. Overall pathetic but shouldn’t be surprised, another government run operation that’s a disaster.
