Veteran's Memorial Golf Course

This is a tough one for me. This course has a really cool layout and some great shots. It is just horribly maintained. They said they did not have mowers for the rough yet and it showed. Really good deal though.

Stopped after 9 because of how poor the conditions were. The staff thankfully gave a heads up and were very kind. They’re put in a tough spot. Go play down the road at Lake Bluff same price, beautiful conditions and nice people.

Soooooo disappointed and upset. Course looks as if it’s been abandoned. It’s criminal that management doesn’t provide any information on the condition of the course. Apparently, course machinery has been broken so grass hasn’t been mowed so rough is insane. No weed control so if you do hit your ball in the fairway you still can’t find it because it looks just like all the other weeds. Greens on the back nine weren’t green, they were dirt patches. Overall pathetic but shouldn’t be surprised, another government run operation that’s a disaster.

Windy day. Really good track. Pace of play was decent. Maybe a ranger would helo. The course was challenging but not too much.

Booked there because times were available on the holiday compared to other courses and the price was the best. I’ve always loved the course layout but it is in disrepair and the greens need major work. But, for the price and lack of congestion, I will continue to golf there. After all, I’m just trying to relax, enjoy the day, and try to hit some good shots.

First time playing here. Fairways were well manicured, but some of the greens were awful. Most of the back nine greens had large patches of dead grass and/or were recently aerated and had thick layers of sand. Despite that, I'd go back because it's still a lot cheaper than other courses that have comparable playing conditions. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was mostly empty. Only saw a few groups out there.

Haven't played the course in several years and due to having quest from out of town set up tee time for late morning round.

Tee boxes were rough, but greens were in bad shape with burned out spots and no grass, Fairways were average, but course needed some tender loving care and lots of water!

Save your money and go somewhere else!

Hope the course hasn't run out of money because it's a great challenging track, especially the back nine.

While there has been some improvement since I played this course in May there is still room for significant improvement before the course returns to the condition it was in the past. Front 9 greens are getting better, back 9 greens still a work in progress. The price is about right and the pace of play was outstanding our 3-some played in 3 hours and 20 minutes.
