Cart paths
Course is in good condition ! Greens are slow probably because of the rain . Cart paths are in terrible shape drove on the fairways to avoid the cart paths !
Oak Grove
This is a very nice course for the price. FAIRWAYS are long and challenging. It would have been a great day for golf if it didn't downpour which left puddles all over the course.
og
course of play was terrible--they book tee-times 7 -8-7-8 minutes apart floods the course hard to have fun waiting on every tee box
Not the course I remembered
Oak Grove is a hike for our group, so we don't play it very often, but it appears to be a little run down from the last time we were there a few years ago. It's a very scenic course with many challenging holes, but the sand traps were mostly dirt or mud, and the cart paths are a mess. A large bucket of range balls was only $9, but I guess you get what you pay for, as they were a mongrel group of brands that must've been found in the weeds - very beat up and no longer white. It was a hot day, but there was no cart girl and no drinking water on the course. We were a threesome and played behind a foursome, but still finished in under 4 hours.
Overall not worth the ride and we won't be back.
Built wonderfully
Its starting to show its age. That being said it was built so correctly that even the average condition still give a challenge because of the wonderful layout.
It is a hidden gem...but you will find it packed at times...slow play...still enjoyable
Play it now before they find out...
This course is comparable to Hawks view and Abby Springs. At least 3-holes you've never seen on a golf course...and yes they have a huge tree in the middle of the fairway on a par 5. It's rarely busy and the layout is such that the pace it rarely an issue. Myself and another played at 10am and finished in 3 hours. The back t's are so far back that you have to find them on a few holes as they are hidden in the woods. The course had cricks but no body of water to play over but they make it up with marsh grasses and a grove of oaks everywhere. Again if you're in the LG area you are going to want to play this course for half the price of the overpriced courses...Grand Geneva and Hawks View. Geneva national is on another level of golf courses that you have to play and pay a lot but it's also worth it.
Oak Grove
Great track as always, but Greens in really bad shape, which was surprising.
Good course, terrible sand traps
It’s a good course it’s tough. The sand traps are more like concrete traps.
What could be great, but isn’t
Was told this course used to be a staple many years ago prior to Golf Visions management taking over. You know things are going to be in rough shape when no divot repair mix is on the carts. The layout of this course is so good and you can see some semblance of what this course used to be. Doesn’t look like anyone cares to fix their green divots and there’s plenty of bald patches all over the greens. Wouldn’t consider hitting from any of the bunkers as they’re filled with rocks. Course would be amazing if someone really cared for it.
