South at Hickory Hills Country Club

This course over the last 3-5 years has been getting worse & worse. Fairways with patches, mud pits. grass along the fairways 6"+, if you go off the fairway you can kiss that ball goodbye! Friendly attendant & pace was extremely well due to me & 3 other gents playing the course on a sunny afternoon. price is way too high for the course management & off course amenities.

Course was good but had no advantage for the women's tees. A few greens needed work but it was early season.

Booked on golfnow. It said walking only but they did have golf carts for rent. They are suppose to get 70 new carts soon. The staff is very friendly and pace of play was good. I was talking to a person working there said they only have two people to cut the grass. They have 4 mowers but not enough help. The fairways were cut as if you landed in first cut of rough. Most of the time you couldn’t see your ball from the tee even in the middle of fairway. Some of the greens were in rough shape but mostly okay. Still had a good time due to weather and fast play.

Rudest management/owners I’ve ever experienced - the old man ha officially given up on this course ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE

I was a little hesitant going into this place due to the negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions. The course is very hilly and the elevation changes adds a bit of challenge. There were a few bald patches on the greens, especially on 14, but the pin placement really makes it not that bad of an issue. I played during the week in the morning so I’m not sure how the pace of play is, but in chatting with the starter it seemed like it gets pretty busy in peak hours. Super friendly staff and I’m looking forward to coming back.

This place is horrible it’s almost comical how bad it is.

This was my first year golfing and this is a great starter course. The course if empty all most all the time so you are able to play fast. Course lay out is fairly easy, few hard holes due to elevation changes. There are a few greens in rough shape. The fairways and roughs are not in bad shape and those conditions have improved a lot of the summer. Overall a good course for beginners but experienced golfers might be less satisfied if playing here. I like going to this course often

A few of the greens have significant dead spots and a large pit in middle of first fairway has been there for at least three years now. But the fairways were in much better shape than the start of the year and were mostly clear of leaves.

Course was busy but not overly crowded which led to ability to have a brisk pace of play.

Staff was very friendly, especially the starter.

if you like bumpy greens with numerous large bare spots, you will be fan of Hickory Hills. If you hit into the rough many areas had so many leaves finding your ball was not possible. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

The course needs work. There was a lot of leaves on the course making it harder to find your ball. For the price it was worth the round.

This course was in shoddy condition at best. Giant holes everywhere and most of the greens looked like the surface of the moon. Extremely poor maintenance and although it is early November, it looked like there was no effort whatsoever to clear any leaves. I will not play here again. Awful for a park district course, let alone a country club’.
