South at Hickory Hills Country Club

I’ll start this off with that I started golfing this year and have never been to a course I thought was genuinely bad til now. Nothing is in good condition on the course. Hitting out of the fair way half the time is worse than the rough. There is cart path going right through the middle of half the holes right where the average golfer would typically hit their drive. There is trees overhanging pretty far into most of the fairways, so you hit a beautiful tee shot just to have an impossible shot to the green. And for almost $50......if I had paid $25-$35 I probably wouldn’t be nearly as disappointed.

Really surprised, a big difference from 3 years ago. They are working hard to shape this course up! A pleasure golfing there! The staff is awesome.

These greens on this course have improved so much from last year, the starter that works on Fridays is one of the nicest guys ever. Definitely recommend going to this course.

Course is starting to live up to its potential. I have spoken with many employees here. There has been a change in leadership at the top with a renewed focus on improving this course. There is a new head groundskeeper named Tim. I ran into him as he was performing repairs to the green on hole 14. He is committed to fixing the greens and keeping the fairways and grass cut to proper lengths. They are upgrading the watering system as well. Staff is very friendly, Lorenzo the starter is all about customer service. He does all he can to insure you have a great experience between parking lot and tee off. A lot of good things happening here. Unfortunately I probably won’t be able to play a 2 1/2 hour round much longer as the course improves and the tee times start filling up

The course was not maintained at all. We were losing balls that went straight up the middle. I lost at least 4 balls that were very much in play. Will never play here again and would advise to save your money and go elsewhere

We got out early (7:40) and played 18 in 3.5 hours. The fairways are in good shape and most greens are as well. For $45 you get what you pay for. These other reviews are a bit harsh. The rough is thick and you can lose balls, but the course is open and gettable. Would play again.

imagine paying more than 15 dollars for this course because i can not. do not come here it is so bad its so funny

Tee time was 6am and I understand that is early but they had sprinkles running on the greens until after 830 am. The greens where soaked and we had to wait every hole for someone to manually pull the sprinklers off of each green. The rough was in worse shape than a back alley and the greens had chunks taken out of them. To top it off it was 42 bucks at 6am to putt through drenched greens. Its a total shame because the course layout is awesome and unique as well as challenging but no one at the course seems to care because the place is a dump!

This course was only difficult because it was so poorly maintained. The grass is so deep that you can easily lose a ball even hitting it on the fairway.

I will not be back.

Pace was way too slow. Tee time started late. Probably 3 groups ahead of us that all came to a snail pace waiting on one group that was taking forever. Ended up skipping 3 holes just to finish. And still ended up taking +4 1/2 hours.

This course is probably the worst course I’ve ever played. Horrible conditions, they do not take care of the course whatsoever. Anything hit off the fairway is a gone. The rough is ridiculous. Be prepared to bring 10+ balls with you because you’ll lose them all. Greens are in horrible shape, half of the holes have dead grass/dirt/sand on them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.
