So much potential here
I love playing this course. The course condition is decent. It has improved in the past couple of weeks with regular cutting. If they invested some money on course improvements it would be a gem of the southwest side. Maybe sell off the 9 hole course and use that money for improvements. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They would also like to see the course upgraded to its full potential
Course is trash
How can they justify charging $40 to play this trash course? Lost about 4 balls on the fairways. Course is so tight.. you are literally dodging golf balls. Honestly they should have given my money back..
Excellent course with a great staff
I had the first tee time of the morning and the staff was engaging, helpful and ready for me. The course was in good shape and it was a nice 18 holes of golf.
A course you should play
First the hospitality from the check-in person and starter is one of the best. For the price, a very solid 18-hole course in good condition considering the rain that has hit. No matter the handicap this course allows errors but has some challenging holes as well, especially 9, 16, and 18.
Save your money, terrible conditions!!
What happened to this course. It is evident the owners simply do not care any more. I used to play here regularly. Last year it was in rough shape. Decided to give it another shot this year. I have never played a course in such terrible condition. Our group of four all had solid drives down the middle of fairway and could not find our balls due to how long the FAIRWAY grass was. Tee boxes were overgrown, fairways were extremely long, and the greens were half bare. The rough was basically three feet high grass, fine, but the fairways and all areas around green were honestly nearly two feet. Save tour money. Not even worth 1 dollar a hole. Owners should sell and get out of golf business.
Avoid!!!! Save your money
What happened to this course. Every year this course gets worse. This is the last time I ever play this course. Tee boxes overrun with long grass, fairways were not mowed if not longer than the rough, the greens were bare. And patchy. The rough was the longest I’ve ever seen. The fairways were long and full of mowed grass. It’s like the owners don’t care or have given up. Seriously not worth the money or time. Owners should be embarrassed. They obviously don’t care. Hard pass!!
Very Poor Grounds
Fairways (or lack of) were very poorly maintained. Lost balls in the middle of fairways smh. Worse value i ever found on GolfNow
Couldn’t tell what was rough and what was the fairway
If you hit into the fairway, it would take about 5 minutes to find your ball, if you hit it in the rough, you are not finding that ball. The green has the type of grass for a fairway, and it’s covered in leaves and everything that falls off a tree. The layout is solid, but I would fire the whole ground keeping crew.
Course conditions so poor its hard to rate
The course has no fairways. The cloverfield (not grass) "fairway" was ankle deep and the same cut as the rest of the course. Where it was cut the clippings were deep. I hit down the middle and lost 4 balls on the first 3 holes as I couldn't even find my hot pink balls in the fairway. I actually left the course after 6 holes
If I could give negative stars I would.
Fairways= 3-6 inches high
Rough= 6+ inches high
Tee Box= i couldnt use my 3.5 inch tees because the grass was too high
Greens= 1/2 inch+ high, missing grass in some spots
I walked off the course after 2 holes, will never return. This course has character and would be fun to play if they took care of it. But there nothing nice I can say about my experience.
Course in very bad condition
I tried to play a round of golf with my cousin on Sunday. We had to walk and that’s no problem but the fairways was in extremely bad condition. You could not tell where the fairway was. The grass was super high and thick. Between the both of us and the people on the course was losing balls in the fairway because it was not manicured. Very disappointed with this course and I don’t see my self ever going there again.
Tough Conditions
- Golfed a 6 a.m. tee time.
- Manage expectations.
- Chicagoland has received a lot of rain, so it's understandable that mowing has probably been tough. With that said, I've never seen grass longer in the fairways than I did today.
- Would hit great drives and simply could not find the ball in the grass.
- LOTS of water on the course; hopefully it will dry up.
Goat Ranch
In the 40+ years of golfing, this is the worst kept course I’ve EVER played. Fairways and rough not cut for weeks. Pins on greens not put back after cutting.
Tall grass on Fairways. Poor condition greens. Muddy fairway
By far the worst
Can't count how many balls I lost in the fairway. They need to cut the grass more.
What a joke
Upon arriving for my tee time that I booked at 4 pm on Tuesday 5/19 I was told that when I called to book it for Saturday at 9 am I really booked it for the day I called. Yes... I WAS TOLD WHAT I SAID BY A PERSON I DID NOT TALK TO WHEN I BOOKED. I was then told they would squeeze us in since we showed up. Huh??? Makes no sense whatsoever. In any case, I let it slide since I wanted to play....
Mistake on all parts. To say this is the worst course I’ve ever played is an insult to the worst courses out there. This is not a course. It’s a grass field where livestock should be roaming. Losing balls on fairways, knee high rough, and poor treatment by the staff who feel like lying to a customer is the best way to cover up their mistakes. And to charge 40 dollars??? Criminal.
Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy, let alone friends. I’d give it negative stars if possible.
