South at Hickory Hills Country Club

Visiting friends in Chicago and had a morning to be able to play golf. 10 Hcp from Cincinnati. The course was very enjoyable. Really liked the terrain and layout. Greens were pretty pure, but land above the hole with the slope of those greens - had a few three putts! Would definitely play this course again should the opportunity arise.

Great course and a pleasant surprise. It was a busy Sunday morning so a little slow on the front 9 but overall great day and was much faster on the back 9. I would recommend this to friends playing and we definitely would come back.

Just look at the rental clubs. Had I not just paid $45 to Uber there, I would not have played and I wish I wouldn’t have. It was useless with those clubs. It would have been nice when I called to confirm clubs were available, if they would have been upfront about the condition. You know something like,”The clubs aren’t bad for a random collection from the lost in found in 1987.” Also, I saw people playing barefoot, could hear music blaring from various fairways, got hit into multiple times from players on different holes. I could go on, but you get it. Stay away.

This course used to be a private club. It should have just been closed when it failed instead of trying to make it public. Clearly no $ go into course maintenance. Doesn’t drain well. Weird hole layouts. $70/round for this is a joke. Etc Etc.

Payed for 18 holes. But when we got there we were told there was a league playing and we would have to play the back 9 twice instead of 1 through 18 like it should be.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens in good shape compared to years ago

It was my first time playing this course and had an outing in front of us. Waited on every hole.

Well kept course that is forgiving if you are oiff target a bit.

First time playing this course. Greens were REALLY SLOW with all the rain this week. But if you do better than my party locking into those, you’ll have a great time. Course is in good shape, with lots of interesting hole designs. No sand is a plus in my book! Would play again soon if I find another sup-$40 deal, but it’s certainly worth $50 for a fun morning.

Course was in decent shape with the exception of the rough, it was very high and looked like it hadn't been cut in weeks. The greens and tee boxes were in decent shape. The biggest issue was that there wasn't anyone monitoring the pace of play and the foursome in front of us was dreadfully slow and backing up the entire course.

Haven’t played this course in 20 years, and it was a pleasant surprise. Nice staff, nice conditions, unique layout for this area. Worth a round or two for sure.

Great course to work on your game without having to deal with to many hazards.
