Good 9 hole golf course, pace of play terrible, very bad, over 3 hours to play nine holes, no on course management by staff. Hard pressed to play again, won't recommend to friends.

Pace of play
It was terrible. We skipped a hole and played 8 holes in 2:30 hours. 8 minutes apart tee times is not enough. Waited 5-8 minutes at every tee.

Tight Course
River Bend is a nice course if you want to go play 9 holes. The course was in good shape. The issue is the course is very tight and, a bad shot means you might be hitting off of another fairway. As a result, the pace of play is slow. It took almost 3 hours to play 9 holes and it wasn't because of our scores.

Great Track, Well Kept, Miserable Pace of Play
Played this course on a Sunday, 2:48pm tee time. This 9 hole has a really fun layout. The course was well maintained for the most part. Unlike most public courses, the l sand was well kept and you could play out of it. The greens could use some TLC.
The pace of play however was miserable. It was so backed up, took 3 hours. Played with a brand new golfer who was able to take 9-10 strokes every hole. We would round the corner thinking surely the next group has moved on. Nope! They were still waiting to tee off.
I will play again, but I would never tee off later than 7am here.
Reservation cancelled- No Comp Given
We made a 4-some reservation for 6pm on Thursday 8/20.
Upon arrival we were told that they were way behind schedule due to a High School league. At least 30-40 minutes behind... and we would not be able to get in all nine holes.
Three members of our foursome came from a distance away and we rearranged our schedules to make this date and time work for all four of us. There was No text or phone call from the Pro Shop alerting us of their delays and possibly saving us the drive.
The proper customer service resolution would have been to have us pay for the 9 holes as scheduled, golf as many as we could before darkness set in... and give us a raincheck for another round to be used at a later date.
Nope!
Instead we were basically told sorry please try again. This is poor customer service.
If the high school league will be playing in the afternoon, perhaps RiverBend should not schedule tee times only to cancel them... or hold ALL tee times accountable for the pace of play including the HS, which I’m sure has golfers better than me.

Starter was unbelievably rude and disrespectful
I came here with my family of 4. Two new players. I picked this place because its not to fancy.
I told both the club house and the starter that i had two new players and that we would not be a problem with pace of play and would pick up often.
As expected we did not get off the first tee well. I drove ahead. The starter drove up to my wife and said that was awful. You guys shouldn't be playing a course like this. (lol at that. Course was in crap condition). Told her that she should leave and go get a refund.
Lets just say i had a few words for him a few times. Since when does a starter or ranger judge peoples play. FTR - we never once slowed up the already incredibly slow play.
Will absolutely never go back and will tell everyone I know.

Not enough yardage markers. Slowed us down and then the ranger tried to push us along.

Decent Layout / Awful Pace
Went to play somewhere close with my wife and son but to play 9 on a Sunday and walk off after 7th hole due to already 2.5 hours - just too awful. No starter - no ranger to improve pace. Now I remember why I hadn’t played there in many years. Sorry but look elsewhere.

Course needs manicuring and friendly starter
Played this course again for the first time this year. For the longest it was my favorite 9 hole to play during the week. Sadly the course conditions have suffered a bit. In the past the course had always been well manicured but now lacking. The starter was very rude and yelling at several players. We had a receipt in our hand after checking in inside the clubhouse but still have is a hard time because he didn't have is on his clipboard. Our reservation had been booked online. Not a good way to start the round.
