River Bend Golf Course

River Bend is a great 9 hole course. It’s fun, it’s playable, and it’s challenging! It’s in great condition and the pace of play was perfect.

We thought we’d have lunch after our round, but the restaurant is not open. The staff gave us a number of recommendations for nearby places so we still got to share a meal and relax.

18 hole courses are my preference but River Bend is a great option if you’re pressed for time.

Tee boxes are next to greens. Fairways have very little separation. Balls are flying at you constantly. Dangerous. Tough 9 hole with trouble if you don’t hit straight. Clubhouse is a waste. Restaurant keeps going out of business. Wish they had course wasn’t so packed in.

This used to be a great course. It has become totally mismanaged. Showed up for a 450 tee time on a beautiful day course was overbooked with no rangers on the course. Waited almost 30 minutes past tee time. Ok, I can live with that. Pass of play was almost 30 minutes a hole!!!! Totally unacceptable. Barely got 6 holes in when it got dark. Clubhouse was closed when we cam off the course. Cross this course off my list.

Was extremely slow. 3 hours for 9 holes. And was constantly under assault by errant shots from other holes as the layout is extremely close together.

Great value for course and great course conditions. Pace of play was pretty bad. Not sure if it was due to lots of beginners or just poorly managed. Didn’t see the ranger out there pushing the pace so maybe that would have helped. To be fair we played with 3, but groups of 4 in front of us were still behind pace as well. Still would return though because of the value.

Don’t know what it was but the pace was brutal on a Friday. It should not take 4 hours to play nine holes!!!

Hot, and humid! Starter reminded us to take water, already had plenty. Cart girl Ellie, working hard took care of whole course! Came by often! Great job!

Of course, was OK but play was very, very, very slow and for some behind us was so obnoxious they apparently were never taught golf etiquette

Up until now I had never bothered to play River Bend....I just ignored it on my way to nearby Seven Bridges. I should have stuck to that tradition. You need a yellow vest and hard hat to play this place...it is very dangerous. All holes have at least one design flaw and that's being nice. If you're a hacker or beginner this is the place for you. If you are a remotely proficient flogger avoid this place like the plague. Hard as rock conditions and sparse grasses in most areas. How people can rate this place at any more than a three star is beyond me....either they are mentally ill or just plain blind. My 3 hour afternoon round featured at least 6 full yelling FORES....and 3 people trying to play my ball - 2 of them hit it even after I yelled at them it was mine (in the middle of the fairway of the hole I was playing not theirs). A balky gas cart and post round when I need to use the bathroom badly the clubhouse was closed (prior to 6pm on weekend). Unacceptable and I would not accept your invitation to play here even if you offered to pay for me, ply me with beverages and buy dinner!
