Broken Arrow Golf Club - North/South
About
Located just 40 miles southwest of Chicago's Loop, Broken Arrow Golf Club is one of the most popular golfing facilities in the area. The club offers 27 holes of championship golf, divided into three unique nines that offer different challenges and scenery. The golf courses: East, North, and South, are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The North/South is the most scenic of the courses. The North is especially beautiful, but it also has another distinction. It is the only course in the Midwest with a dual-green concept. The design allows golfers to control the difficulty of the course by offering the option to play to either of the two flags on each hole. The club's former use as a farm is evident on the South nine where the original farmhouse and silo can be seen from the first tee box.

Nice course, good value
Got an amazing deal to play here from GolfNow. Arrived at the course a bit early to warm up since it was only 40-ish degrees outside. Went inside to check in and asked the guy if I could get on earlier since I was a single. He proceeds to tell me that they normally would never do this on a "GolfNow reservation" and it probably would never happen in the summer when they were busy. I get the summer thing, but there were only four cars in the lot! Really? Anyway, went out solo and had a good round on the South/East courses. Course can be challenging in spots. A couple of forced carries make it interesting. Make sure you're playing the correct tees for your game. A windy day can make this a pretty demanding test. Give it a try, convenient off I-355.
Good deal
Course was nice for early season. Always windy here, though
Thank you for reviewing and playing with us! We hope to see you back soon.
Late/Off Season treasure
Played here with two friends the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Started off great at 50 degrees, by the time we finished it was around 30 and snowing. Nonetheless, a fantastic experience. Fairways and greens were in incredible shape considering it snowed almost an inch about 3 days before. Great, open yet challenging layout with wide fairways/landing areas but hazards lurking and challenging approaches. Recommend to any level of golfer.
Play smart.
27 holes.
I Played the South/East. Reg tees 6,350.
71.7/130 ratings.
Quality layout with plenty of trouble to get into. Wind made it that more troublesome when you play for the first time. Fairways wide enough for fair play.
They have discounted rates. Don't pay rack rate. If we're closer(45 min drive) I'd play more often. Not enough of a personality to make the drive over and over.
An afternoon of waiting.
We teed off on time only to finish 5 1/2 hrs. later. Stacked up all afternoon without a ranger in sight. The course was in nice shape' the GPS was very helpful, I just expected to play it in a reasonable amount of time.
OK for a links course
good for fall play very few trees ...of the 20 courses we play i'd reat this number 8
Greens where in great shape
As a single I had a fousome two groups ahead but the moved fairly quick. I just slowed down my pace to match. I played 18 in 3 hours
Broken Arrow GC Lockport
I used a GolfNow.com Hot Deal and went out as a single.
I was overall extremely pleased with the golf course condition and the staff was very accomodating/helpful.
Labor Day Weekend...
A bit of my way. Only went because of a decent deal through GolfNow, including cart and sleeve of balls. Very open with relatively few trees. Houses line the whole course. Good use of bunkers, ponds and creeks to keep you challenged. Bring some extra balls to feed the water gods. Very well maintained fairways and greens. Tee boxes were a little worse for the wear due to the recent wet conditions. Carts are electric with GPS. Pace of play was too slow by my taste -- 4.5 hours. We were stacked up like planes on approach to Ohare...
Decent course but no reason to go back.
Good play for the price
Course was in fair condition. North 9 had brutal roughs. If you ended past first cut, deep and lots of debris. Greens played very well. We played at 6am so staff were still working on course so later rounds were probably better. Would play again.
Always an enjoyable experience
Course in very good condition. Nice pace of play for the most part. GPS very helpful with some of the holes. Very good value
Great Course
I played south / east, the course is in great shape and is challenging to most golfers. I will certainly be back.
Great Golf for Great Value
For a public course it is one of the best in the southwest side of Chicago. Staff was friendly, and the course was in Great shape.
The price is terrific for the quality of play.
This course is challenging and has great scenery
This course is challenging and has great scenery. Very well kept and staff is friendly. The price is the cheapest compared to any other course with the cart.
Well maintained
Fun course, good pace of play. greens in good shape. Driving range could be better, the artificial turf area was poor quality. I am not a big fan of the split greens on the North course, but you get used to them.
Wonderful course
I love this course. Pretty challenging and conditions of course are always pretty good.
Nice course...
Nice course in the south suburbs. Fairways and greens in great shape. Rangers/Staff super friendly. Pace of play was great.
Great Weather
Weather was perfect so the course was crowded. Played as a twosome on South and East courses in a little under 4.5 hrs. Liked that the rough off the fairway was a little longer and thicker than most courses I play for $25-$35 early bird specials in southland area.
Hidden Gem
I never new this course with 3 nines and a practice area ever exisited until last year. I've been playing golf in the west and southwest suburbs for many years. I was very surprised at how nice the course is and well maintained it is. I'm an 8 handicap and fully enjoyed playing here so much that since last summer I've played here 4 times now! Highly recommended! Great bang for the buck!
Great course that has it's act together!
This was my second time playing this course and it won't be my last. Unlike many courses that get people on as quickly as possible, Broken Arrow sticks to the tee times so pace of play is what it should be. I'm a 15 handicap and played with three 20+ and we never waited nor held anyone up. We went around in 4:16 with an 8:16 tee time on a Saturday morning. Almost unheard of in Chicagoland area. Course was in great shape, and everyone we encountered were friendly.
Thank you for the review! We are so glad you enjoyed your round with us and you got to play as a single. We hope to see you back soon!
