Old Oak Country Club
About
Old Oak Country Club is situated only 20 minutes from Chicago, but the beautifully wooded terrain shaded by mature oaks and hickory trees, makes it feel as though it's much further away. Originally opened in 1926, the golf course is one of the area's oldest and even one of the oldest in the state. It has undergone many renovations over the years but it still retains its classic character. The layout offers plenty of variety with drivable par 4s and lengthy par 5s. The rolling topography provides many of the golf course's challenges, from the rolling fairways and undulating greens to the elevated tees and blind shots. Mature trees tower over the fairways, adding another tricky element to the golf course. Old Oak Country Club is challenging but fair and still quite playable, which is why it has long been a local favorite.

Enjoyed course layout and staff friendliness!
The old country club ambiance was apparent from start to finish! We enjoyed our round and tie well maintained course.
the course has a great layout
course was in great shape greens are very tricky
Outstanding Course
This 18 hole course is beautifully maintained, challenging, and pace is tightly managed. Have played this course several times this season and hope to make it a regular stop.
Big Improvement
The creation of white tees on the hard holes made the golf course much more enjoyable!
A Hidden Diamond
Old Oak C.C continually upgrades & adds more beauty to their course as well as the club house as time goes on. The course itself is challenging with uneven lies & lots of sand traps & is well maintained. Tree lined fairways can get you into trouble if you don't hit 'em straight as well as the rolling hills. Pace of play was excellent - about 4 hours for a foursome. Plan on going back a few times before the season ends.
Great course
Very friendly starter and great pace of play
Great run for the value at Old Oak
Staff was extremely friendly right when you arrive and also when you meet with the starter.
The fairways were in great shape and the greens were very well manicured.
Great golf course with a very reasonable price.
Outstanding Old Oak
Course was in great shape. Pace of play smooth. Enjoyed my round and will be back to play again very soon.
Really Enjoyed this Course
I got a hot golf now for $36. Weekend riding is 57-69 - I wouldn't pay that. I would value a weekend midday 18 with cart at $42-45. The greens need improvement to take it to the next level.
The course was shortened - presumably for Father Day - nothing strokes the ego like shooting 90 on 6,000 yards. The course is in very nice shape - scale of 1-10 I'd give fairways a 9, rough and surrounding a 10, and greens an 8. We played 18 in 4:45 so pace was average to slow. I appreciated the character of the course - stay close to the fairways or you'll waste shots punching out. I'm a bogey golfer and shot 91 so close to on par with my norm but I normally try to play at least 6,300 yards because I'm better with short irons than wedges going into the greens. Fun course for shorter players, if you can be strategic with your shots this course is scoreable. For longer players I say play it at 6,400 or more if you can and you might be able to cut a few corners along the way.
Rainy Day
Waited out the rain and got our 18 in 3 hours. These are the hardest greens to putt on. I'm not complaining because it will only help. Golfnow was amazing 2 of my guys didn't come because of rain. Golfnow refunded my money and fees without a problem. Love golfing here one of my favorites will be back.
Better than average
First I'm a big fan of the course layout. I was expecting the typical old school CC feel but this course has great character. There are some really short par 4's (take caution on #15) but the par 3 will challenge you. The overall condition of the course was very nice as well. Cons; greens were slower than most but in fairness rolled well, bunkers have enough sand in them for 3 more courses, $5 for a cart key is bit obnoxious. This course could be a lot more enjoyable but for me the course and the experience puts it right at better than average.
Golfer tim
The staff at desk are friendly but the starter is always a very unpleasant person he doesn't make you feel comfortable. They have a great set up and facility but the starter needs to make you feel welcome and be a friendly representative of the course. Every time I've played my guests comment on how rude the starter is at the course
GREAT ROUND
Challenging course that is in very good shape.
Old Oak
Excellent overall experience!
december golf
for it being 12-11 and 56 degrees it was wonderful
November play
Not in bad shape for Novemeber prices a little high for now but nice place to play.
Old Oak
If you like mature, established golf courses, this is a must play. There are holes to score on and others that you have to respect. There are hundreds of trees thru out the course, many sand traps and several creeks or ponds. It is definitely worth the trip.
Top Notch Course
great course and a super value...I'll be back.......
