Marengo Ridge Golf Club opened as a nine-hole course in 1963. Spread across rolling, wooded hills, the course was crafted by re-purposing an old farm. The working cattle barn was even renovated to become the clubhouse. As the golf course garnered a local following, a new nine was added in 1990. The more than 25-year difference between when the two nines were constructed give the course a unique character. The layout seamlessly blends modern techniques and classic design. The distinct topographies of each nine add even more variety. Marengo Ridge Golf Club's original nine holes weave through mature trees while the newer holes are more open and links-style. There are several tricky doglegs throughout but it isn't overly punishing if you're errant. You'll also face several water hazards and strategically placed bunkers.

Hidden Gem for a great value!

Hidden gem of a course with challenging holes and friendly staff! Great bang for the buck. Bunkers and water are plentiful, so accuracy over distance at this place. One of only a few local courses that makes you use almost every club in the bag. Always enjoy playing here.

Nice course but tougher than you think

Marengo Ridge is way up in the northwest boonies but worth the drive. I expected a wide open former cornfield, but was in for a surprise. Lots of water, bunkers, and mature trees. My only complaint (due to my inexperience with course) is the several hidden hazards that you can't see from the tee or second shot. Our foursome lost a bunch of balls by not knowing when to lay up. Also my best drive of the day wound up in a hidden bunker in the center of the fairway. Overall a fun course and the best $4 brats I've ever had.

Pleasantly surprised

This is a nice track. The routing takes advantage of the somewhat hilly terrain and I enjoyed the numerous doglegged holes. Greens are medium sized and putt well. Would play again.

Besides this course being great. There are some golfers yesterday that don't know how to pay attention to the course rules. Two groups of four in front were driving their carts between the sand traps and greens and ruining the grass. Running over stakes and parking the cart a few feet away from the tee box. These golfers are not golfers, they have no respect for the course. Needs a ranger at times to monitor.

Great course!

I really enjoyed playing Marengo Ridge. It’s off the beaten path, for sure, but once there it’s a really fun course. The layout is really enjoyable, and the price is right, too
