Great Track - Missing 1 Thing
Love this track, its a great course, great bang for your money. Really tough greens but if you’re on the putting green long enough, you will be ready. Some really fun holes. Only thing missing is a hitting range, but a lot of people go hit at Country Side next door before they come.
Course Ranger needs to settle down. GPS not working.
The course ranger split up our foursome on the 4th hole stating we were lagging way behind ... we caught the next group after one hole and were waiting for every hole after that. The GPS turned off after hole 1. I switched carts at the turn. Maintenance was stating the cold weather drains the batteries on the GPSs. The next cart's GPS also malfunctioned. Both issues made the experience not enjoyable.
First time
First time, decided to play on a nice but windy day. Grind was still wet in certain places but playable. Greens were in good shape for the time of year.
Not bad for march
Beautiful march day!! Course was a littlle wet but minimal mud. Course was in good shape for the 1st day of spring. Cart path only made for a lot of walking. Inclined and undulating greens made for a lot of tough 3 putts as usual. Almost too challenging once they dry out.
Unfriendly
I have played this course many times and usually have a good experience. Unfortunately this time the staff was not very helpful. My tee time was a bit late to finish before sundown due to the time change. I got there very early and asked if I might be able to join another 3-some. They were adamant that Golfnow hot deals could not be changed and refused to let me play earlier or even start on the back 9 to speed up my round. The have been pretty unfriendly in the past as well when they see that I have booked a time through GolfNow.
Slick Greens!!!
The Greens were just rolled and my ball was rolling well past the cup when not going in. Bird on #3 & #7 and few pars. I really enjoy putting on fast greens and these are /were LIGHTENING fast as of 10/19. The course is in good shape however they took the light sand out ( probably due to end of season) and while there was still sand , it was rather Municiple . We played White /Blue mix and I think I would have enjoyed playing from the Blue Tees more so. The Tee boxes were rather beaten up on some of them, probable due to most play from the White Tee boxes ( assuming from all the marks created ). Other than a cranky old guy yelling at us to get on the 1st Tee because we are 2 minutes ahead of our tee time, Steeple Chase is an absolute gem of Golf Course. A+ , I'll play it again in a week or so.
Fast greens
One of the great municipal courses. Great layout and super quick greens. Fun to play.
