I love Steeple Chase! Great layout and fast greens! BUT...You have to fix the bunkers! Many were raked clay with no sand.
That being said, wonderful facility!
Great find
Really had a great day here. Pro shop was super friendly and helpful. Tee boxes were cut short and level. Fairways, rough, and bunkers were well manicured. Greens were very fast and hilly, but rolled well. Gps with green slopes, which was cool and new to me! Gotta be below the hole. Layout was great. Can hit driver on most holes. Only knocks are there isn’t a range, only a few mats with a big net. And it’s a bit more expensive than most, but worth it.
ABSOLUTE GEM
Long course, challenging, greens were firm but true. Rolled fantastic. Played for 54 bucks today and by far one of the best rounds I’ve been in Chicago this summer. Highly recommend.
Steeplechase
My oh my…greens were quick and in great shape for early in the season. Had water on the course and pace the of play was great. Solid layout, and test from the tips.
Course was in good condition despite recent rains. Greens are fast. Must make good approach shots and keep ball below hole.
Great Track - Missing 1 Thing
Love this track, its a great course, great bang for your money. Really tough greens but if you’re on the putting green long enough, you will be ready. Some really fun holes. Only thing missing is a hitting range, but a lot of people go hit at Country Side next door before they come.
Course Ranger needs to settle down. GPS not working.
The course ranger split up our foursome on the 4th hole stating we were lagging way behind ... we caught the next group after one hole and were waiting for every hole after that. The GPS turned off after hole 1. I switched carts at the turn. Maintenance was stating the cold weather drains the batteries on the GPSs. The next cart's GPS also malfunctioned. Both issues made the experience not enjoyable.
First time
First time, decided to play on a nice but windy day. Grind was still wet in certain places but playable. Greens were in good shape for the time of year.
