Good course
Its a very nice course except the greens are too fast and too undulating. Several times I was on the green but 3-putted.
Challenging Steeple Chase
Course was in very good condition. Greens receptive but firm and fast. Greens could be very difficult for 18 and over handicaps. Layout and length for all levels.
Nice place.
The course was very well maintained with the exception of the bunkers. Unfortunately, I spent a little more time there than anticipated. They were very hard and rocky. not really sandy. I would expect more from a course that cost over $50 per round. Again, this was my only complaint. The course was very nice and challenging.
Great Course
Greens are fast! Better to be on the front side of the greens on most holes.
Nice layout
This course was a pleasant experience, played in 3 1/2 hours.
Fair but tough
Pretty nice layout. Conditions were dry and the greens pretty hard. Barely left ball marks on full flighted shots. Very fast greens that rolled smoothly.
Not in Great Shape
It’s end of the season, but this course used to be pristine. No longer the case. Greens and tee boxes decent, everything else VERY average. Not worth the greens fees. I won’t be back.

Greens are insane, even if you bring you bring your A game Steeple’s greens will challenge it,
Not a good experience
Course was not in very good shape. Ground was rock hard. Fairways were splotchy. Greens wouldn't hold anything. Putted from below the hole on 18. Ball went three inches past the cup and then rolled 10 feet back down the hill. Many areas around the green had no grass, just packed down rock hard ground. It is a nice layout but the condition of the course negated that.
Great course with a few tough greens
This is a beautiful course that offers enough of a challenge to a bogey golfer. This has a country club feel to it and is a quiet, calm place.
The combo tees are a good option for a golfer who misses a few fairways.. Blues tees are great for straight shooters.
The greens have been faster this summer and have a lot of character. Shooting good scores requires one to be a smart putter.
The fairways, approaches and greens are well maintained. The staff is friendly and the amenities on offer are standard.
Highly recommend. I love playing this course though the fee is above average.
Love Steeple Chase
Easily my favorite course in the north suburbs. The layout is challenging and thoughtful. You have to think through each and every shot. I've probably played the course 10-15 times and am just now getting to the point where I have an understanding of the angles and risk-rewards spots. The greens are fast, firm, and true. Lots of subtle undulations that require finesse and touch in your putting stroke. Make sure you spend time on the practice green before the round to dial in your putting. No driving range (2 hitting nets available) but thats not a huge issue, as Countryside Golf Course is a mere 5 mins away and has a driving range.
Highly recommend Steeple Chase to anyone looking for a challenging course in great condition. Wish the prices were lower, but understandable given the recent golf boom. Will continue to come back week after week.
Putting Green
That’s exactly where you should start before your round. If you don’t, that’s on you… there will be many three putts in your future. Course is in very good condition and the greens, today at least, were at a twelve. Tip: leave the ball below the hole - above it will run to front of green or even off.
