Great day at Steeple Chase today. The course played fair with little wind. The greens were super fast in the early am and just got faster. Find the fairway and you have an opportunity to score - but only if you can hold the green. No driving range to warm up (hitting nets) but the practice green is where you spend all of your time pre-round anyway.
Congrats on a fantastic job by the staff.
Humbling
It was a humbling round at Steeple Chase. It you like fast greens this is the place for you. However you never want to be behind the hole. The layout was nice with open holes and it’s a real test for club selection and course management. It would of been nicer if the pin placements were in flatter areas of the greens to boost the average golfers confidence but that’s golf and we all struggle sometimes.

I enjoy my time when playing at steeple chase. Great course and condition was excellent.

Challenging course at every tee !
Challenging and fair course. Excellent conditions despite approaching dog days of summer. Smooth, fast greens and bunkers in good shape despite no rakes. Four hour round early on a Saturday morning leaves the rest of the day free.
Tough Greens
Course was in excellent shape playing fast and firm. Greens were fast and challenging.
Pace of play was great. Played late afternoon and got around in 3.5 hours.
Friendly staff serving a cold brew for the 19th hole overlooking the course. Great end to a fun round.
Excellent Round
Steeple Chase was in excellent condition. Greens were superb. Except for slow play a few groups ahead, excellent all around.
Good times
I really like this course but slightly overpriced on weekends, I played after 3pm so It was more reasonable. GPS on carts is nice and the pace was decent, could use some rangers out there to help speed it up even more.
Great shape
Steeplechase is in mid season form with well groomed fairways and moderately thick rough. We played in less than 4 hours without waiting for slow play ahead. Greens were particularly challenging to read and gauge speed. They are faster than other courses played in the area.
