Great course, greens were fast course was in great shape, love playing here.
Nice course rude staff
I booked an 8am tee time. It was then1st tee time of the day. I arrived 20 min early checked in an wet to the tee 10 min prior the starter checked us in then yelled at me for going on the tee box before 8am . No frost on course so I asked him why he was rude and said they were working on the course. No one was working on the 1 st hole. After the 1 st hole I approached the ground crew they were very nice and said they were just emptying the sprinklers don’t worry. I don’t understand why t starter was so rude. Also I ask to go ahead of two guys I was paired up with and he said no “ I don’t like your attitude “ what a jerk after a few hole they let me go ahead any way . I will not play here again
Greens are too fast
On many holes you could lip out a downhill putt and still still wind up 20-25 ft away. We were playing with a fairly good high school team golfer and even he said it was harsher than his tournament conditions. The pins were set at the top of many steep slopes.
Quick Greens on a Fun Track
Fourth time playing Steeple Chase and this is as fast as I recall the greens ever being. Yes, you'll want to be below the hole! GPS on the carts is very helpful and includes an aerial view of the greens with the undulations. Holes #5, #6, #10, #11 are my favorites. Hole #18 is very memorable, but can be a "love it or hate it" hole depending on the day. Always a treat to play here!

Even towards the end of the season, these greens are still slick. Not as fast as they are during the heart of the season, but still enough to give you a knee knocker from 3 ft. One place I could I see improvement would be the tee boxes - most are not flat.
All in all, such a nice track - go experience it for yourself. You’re welcome.
Country Club Quality
Only problem was thick roughs. Otherwise a well maintained, scenic and playable course.
Fast greens and sub 4 hour round
Course was in great condition and pace of play was great - especially for a Sunday morning. Greens played fast and we’re in good shape. Fairway bunkers had small rocks in them, but green side bunkers were better maintained. Grab a drink at the clubhouse, since seasonal employees weren’t there bc they are back in school.

This golf course is a Gem ! Greens are lightening fast ( which I prefer) . Some holes are forgiving fairway wise , but others especially hole 18 take some serious precision with your first and second shot . Play the course , you will be glad you did !!!

Worth Playing
I like smooth fast greens. This course has them. Challenging layout, good conditions. Pace was excellent on a weekday round (Monday). But the starter said the tee sheet was full so props to keeping the pace to under 4 hrs.
Hidden Gem
I haven’t played Steeple Chase in several years. I played it today and it was in great shape. The greens were very fast but true. I will definitely be back
