Adequate course for novice/intermediate golfers.
We played the following day after a severe thunder/windstorm. Although all the greens were in good shape, there were many large broken tree branches scattered throughout the course. Also there was no starter/ranger and many of the ball washers did not have any water in them too but overall for what we paid (via Golfnow.com) it was still a very good deal.
good value
Not a bad course for the money. Fair mixture of challenging holes along with some makeable par threes.
Not a great course
Our tee time was at 9:30 am. The course was overbooked and was hard to not get stopped by horrible players who didn't follow golf etiquette. Also there were sprinklers on the whole day and we had to get wet several times to play our ball. And they were cutting the grass and ran over my ball. The sand traps are horrible. When I mentioned to the staff about the sprinklers and lawn mowers he didn't care.
Much Improved
Moved at a teriffic pace. Course was in MUCH better shape than last year. At $24 a round w/cart, a bargain.
Good course for the average player
Fun course. Not intimidating. You can grab a good score if you play conservative.
Course was in good shape
Pace of play was good, especially for a Saturday Morning
Challenge for your Dollar
This course actually made you have to hit golf shots and think about what club to hit. There were some very challenging pin placements. It was worth the trip!!
Great bang for your buck
Good course for the money. Went early morning on a weekday and had a great time.
Maintenance: A Course Supervision: D
The greens and fairways of this course are well maintained. However, there is a definite lack of ranger supervision on this course. As a result, a six-some was allowed out on the course; we also saw a group of five. This resulted in a slowdown of play that could be avoided with ranger supervision. Service in the bar area was also extremely slow. At least 15 minutes was required just ordering two hot dogs. This is not the first time we have experienced slow play. On other days, we have seen people jump around and play whatever hole was available. This course is certainly less expensive than most in Lake County, but improper course supervision does not provide for a good playing experience.
Very forgiving course
I'm used to a tight course at my Fla home.
Village Green took 10 strokes off my score. :)
Run down
Young manager could learn to be a little more personable and friendlier. I used to play this course several times a week and bring a few guys with me, needless to say, after being treated poorly by the manager, I have not been back since. Greens are usually mowed not as short as other courses so they tend to be slow. Sand in the bunker? Non-existent. Don't ruin your club hitting rocks. Fairways are lumpy and not kept short. I used to play here often because I learned the game on this course, don't get me wrong though, if you're looking to get out and play when most courses are booked, come here.
Average Course
I've played here last winter and the course was pretty much in the same shape. The course and greens were pretty decent given the weather here. It's open all year so if not a bad choice for an average course during the cold months.
This course needs some work ! ! !
At the beginning, the course appeared to be challenging, but not for long. The hole layout was missing and so was the overall picture of the golf course, as to how it is laid out. On the course itself, poor directional markings for the next hole resulted in lost time and frustration. Some of the fairways were OK, while others needed more maintenance to avoid the appearance of a "COW PASTURE"- sorry to say this but this is the truth. However, with just a little more maintenance and some adjustments to the TEE boxes and upgrading their score cards, it can be brought up to an average course where you can actually have some fun.
Short
Short and sporty, nicely maintained usually can walk on.
Solid course
If you are expecting Augusta National when playing this is not the course for you. But I found it playable for someone with a 16 handicap like myself. Course was in average condition with great pace of play making it very enjoyable for a weekend round of golf. I would definitely play there again at the rate from GolfNow.
Good time course, when not seeking challenge.
Village Green is short, half way between easy and moderate, and it gives a good chance of holing out on 18 with the ball you tee up on 1. Play is generally quick, and the price is inviting.
it is very nice for a begininer and someone who wants to swing a club. the people are very nice and the course has some challenging holes but just "y
I truly enjoyed it- took a friend that is just learning and we had a terrific time.....some holes can bite you....fun layout probably not making a ton of revenue so the place is not pristine but your wallet willnot suffer and a nice little bar with good folks.
Good course for the price.
Relatively easy course. In decent shape. Good value.
