Fox Bend Golf Course

course in great shape, thicker rough. fyi...the two 9 holes have been swapped. old front nine is now back 9. so, 1st hole is now the par 5 (old 10th hole). have heard this was done to move pace of play better. as the holes would back up a little under old front 9 (par 4, par 3 and par 4 with target landing short of a creek). we played 18 and teed off at 6:10am and finished by 9:30am today. we were two walkers and 2 in cart. same for group in front of us. so, course can move along if most people play ready golf.

course does have some landing golf type holes. several holes have creeks around 210-240 yards. so, best to layup and then approach. one par 5 and a par 4 has a creek that runs across fairway, guarding about 50-70 yards from hole..so, strategic golf is important. lots of dogleg holes...so be cautious to blow through fairways.

we play this course 5-10 times a season and it always delivers a great experience!

This is a fantastic course, especially for the price. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. It is a very scenic course with water involved on several of the holes. My 12 year old son and I played on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. The burgers from Pearce’s Grill were amazing as well! We will be back.

Fox Bend was very playable for this time of the year in Chicago. With the sun out, there was a lot of players. No electric carts forced all to walk, making the round much longer than it normally would be. We were not upset, the fact we are playing in an UnderArmour shirt at this time of the year make it very enjoyable.

I am sure this course is well worth playing. A sign of a good course is when you have sets of tees for every level of player and FB had that. We saw younger and older playing different tees and enjoying themselves. I would not hesitate to play this course during the normal golf season. Good staff and they cared to make the experience fun. Price was incredible!! Amenities grade is low only because the restaurant/bar was closed since it is the off-season. Not a big deal.

The fairways were in great shape and greens even better. I posted an earlier review that was critical of Golf Now for not letting me amend the number of players not Fox Bend. One of our group sprained his ankle that morning an could not play. The staff at Fox Bend were extremely helpful an knowledgeable.

Had 3players scheduled. Received a call the morning of our tee time. He called me and said he sprained his ankle coming down his steps and could not play. We are all in our 70’s an have problems. I went online to modify the # of players and it was refused unless I paid an annual fee. Am retired on a limited income. I an all of my friends will not use your website unless I get a refund.

This was great course and the slopes on the greens were killer! For course layout... I would only suggest after playing here a few times is to PLEASE let the public know where to go with signs going to the next hole. Also...there no signs at more than half the tee boxes to confirm what hole you are on.

Course was in great shape wasn’t a lot of traffic there when we played which was great for us as we played fast.

Would definitely play here again. Holes challenging but fair. Course was in good condition. Cart lady made many appearances.

Nobody there, priced to high for the quality of the course. If you want to play a fast round and pay for it, Fox Bend is perfect. If you ever played Fox Valley in Batavia, it's the same experience. Hopefully not the same end result Good luck out there.

One of my top reason I enjoy coming here is the staff.

The rangers / starters are some of the best around.

The Pro shop and even the bev cart people are all great.

Bar and restaurant for 19th hole fun after your round.

While the staff tries hard to keep the pace of play enjoyable for all, some of the patrons don't get it. On the weekend mornings it can slow down, which is

understandable.

Course Conditions - Are usually good for a muni track, the course is prone to flooding on a few holes during heavy rain events.

Course Layout - This is my one beef with the course. The par 3 holes lack imagination and variation. Depending on your set of tees, play mostly form the same yardages.

Also flat and a lack of elevation changes.

Overall a fun and enjoyable course. -
