missing a lot of grass and black dirt on lots of the fairways
Decent distance/bad teebox and fairway
Course maintenance was lacking, but still plenty playable. Pace of play is poor and starter operations could be improved.
The Champ is always a test
Course layout is amazing. Although long for some, the champ is still a great spot for all handicaps. Fairways are somewhat dry/crab grass in some areas but greens are well maintained and rolling nicely.
Thank you so much for your review, Thomas! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our course and value your feedback. We hope to see you back again soon.

6th time at this track this year at 630am, best time to get out there to beat the rush. Track is exactly what you pay for, there are some long challenging holes but don't expect any pristine lies in the fairway. I'll see you again next season Joe Louis!
Thanks for your review! We value your feedback and hope to see you back again soon.
Seen Better Days
$17 per person for a cart. What a rip off. The course was OK at best. Too many unrepaired divot marks on the greens to count. A few of the fairways were just dirt, not even dead grass. After reading reviews of the course for this season i was skeptical to spend my money here, but was convinced by someone who’s played here before. But after our round here neither if us will be back.
great place to play
wonderful day to play on a almost great course. still no sand in the traps nd the tee boxes need work. everything else was good
Thanks for your review! We value your feedback and hope to see you back again soon.
Absolutely Unacceptable
As we were finishing up the last half of the back nine we were told by members of the "clubhouse" that we had to end our round as it was too dark to play.... it was 6pm and still light out! He then went on to state that he was the only one there and had to get out of here to go do something else. We paid for a full 18 holes of golf and were terribly disappointed when we weren't allowed to finish our round. This is unacceptable as they should either, not be offering 18 hole reservations between the times of 4pm and 5pm if they don't allow us to finish. I would like a refund to compensate our time driving out to this course and not being able to play what we fully pre-paid for an 18 hole round of golf.
Bring your friend who doesn't golf
The course itself is not very well-maintained but the long fairways and general forgiveness of the course makes it a great place to bring learners. The greens are surprisingly tough, which will add a few strokes for experienced golfers.
For the price it's worth getting out for 18 but don't expect to fly through the course.
Poorly maintained
The greens have so many ball marks, it's almost impossible to play a green without someone in your cousins having an impacted putt. You can't really tell where the fairway starts and the rough ends. 95% of the course was near rock dry but there were a few random soggy spots. My golf cart had duck tape over rips on the seat.
The staff was friendly. The bratwurst was pretty good. The golfers were diverse and laid back. If you aren't a good golfer, you won't be judged. If you just want to shoot your 105, get a tan, and have a relaxing day, you can do that here. You may have to wait a bit to hit your ball when it's on an adjacent fairway, but that you won't be the only one.
SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
First 9 holes took 3 HOURS!! At the turn I told the manager and even the the slow foursome still had not teed off on 10 he said nothing. I was laying down on the 12th hole t box having already been on the course for 4 HOURS!! After 5 minutes I looked up and the foursome in front of us hadn't moved AT ALL. It was going to be a 6 1/2 hour round!! I walked off. Never will I play there again!!!
Challenging course, slow pace of play
The course offers enough challenge for all skill levels. Deep rough and undulating greens keeps you on your toes. Fairways and greens are in rough shape. Pace of play is 4.5-5 hours. Overall, it’s a fun course for a decent price.
Joe Louis review
The course was not as bad as some of these reviews claim. I played for my first time, and enjoyed the course. The rough is a bit deep, and does need a thinning, but the rest of the course is just fine. The greens are tricky and different at every hole, great city course, beginner or not. I played from blue tees and did fairly well. Would play again
Thank you so much for your review, Matt! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the course with your buddies. We hope to see you back soon.
