Please repair your ball marks! No excuse. Some good holes, lost of standing water. Great staff.

The course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes were shaggy as was the fairways. The rough was very rough as grass was at least 5 inches high. Given that most were walking it made walking more difficult.

I do acknowledged there has been a lot of rain recently.

Played this course about 3 years ago. The 4 of us were driving back from the south Chicago burbs and looked up this course online. Decided to try to walk on and squeeze in an afternoon round. We entered the clubhouse (if you can even call it that) and they took our payment, gave us carts and told us to wait on the 1st Tee for an opening, with zero direction on what time we should tee off.

I'm not exaggerating when I say there were probably already 7-8 groups waiting to tee off, all huddled around the #1 tee box. No starter or anyone organizing play. We never teed off - we would've easily waited hours to do so. The staff refused to refund us. Left and very unlikely to return. I have nothing against Joe Louis as a result, but it's sad to see a piece of his legacy tied to a golf course with such poor course management.

Yes the fairways can be a little suspect. However typically the greens are as good as any public course, the layout is one of the best around great mix of holes. They value of this course is as good as any. I would put it right there with deer Creek in University Park. You can play JL for $22 with a cart and like $35 on the weekends you can't beat that.

Also this course has the best finishing hole around.

No driving range. Small putting green. Terrible fairways with rock hard ground. Flat bedrock type "bunkers" pace of play want terrible but apparently we got lucky. Not recommended

Course needs help they are trying but still needs a lot of work..Building repairs needed all structures greens need to be updated.

Great value, close to the city, course was in good shape

There were two holes closed to due too much rain, but it would have bee nice to know there were only 16 holes available either at the time it was booked or before teeing off. The staff said nothing. I understand bad weather conditions but I don’t think that’s acceptable.

The staff here are very friendly but the public that play here are terrible with golf etiquette. The course fairways are not in the best shape but the greens are well taken care of. Overall I will NOT play here again.
